Job Description

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing & managing large public academic projects from start through completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Developing and leading high performing teams providing administrative & technical support by directing the team. Ensuring high-quality, safe, and clean work that meets projects schedules and budgets. Coordinating & collaborating with necessary project parties. Leading site personnel, providing guidance to ensure the highest levels of safety, productivity, and performance. Developing relationships with clients, and maintaining open lines of communication. Managing project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, daily logs, and progress reports. Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement. Establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all individuals involved in the project. Upholding company image / professionalism.

The Successful Applicant

The right candidate has the following qualifications: 5+ years (minimum) experience as a Superintendent with a GC. Strong background in ground-up commercial work along the lines of (Healthcare, public, K-12, Higher-Ed). Very comfortable running projects $15M-$60M+ start to finish. Commutable to RI area. Thorough understanding of contract documents, drawings, specifications, construction means and method, materials, survey methods & overall construction planning and cost control. Knowledge of construction planning and cost control. Ability to implement Lean construction principles. OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
