About the Team The Computer Use Agents team aims to develop LLM agents that can use computers the way (or better) human use today. About the Role In this role you will: Build the best in class Computer Use Agents focussing on automating repetitive processes, building and testing software, performing long-horizon tasks (e.g. research, plan and execute on a complex task). Build infrastructure to collect and organize suitable tasks in the form of Data and Environments for the CUA to iterate and improve on. Build and evolve evaluation suites to measure the performance of CUA in real world applications. Exceptional candidates may have: Experience in developer tooling with AI first mindset for the changing world. Hands-on experience architecting isolated, multi-OS environments using containerization tools like Docker, incorporating Windows, Linux, and macOS setups with pre-installed applications like Browsers, IDEs, Terminals for seamless integration. About the Team

The Computer Use Agents team aims to develop LLM agents that can use computers the way (or better) human use today. The team will build the base towards the goal of Macrohard - an autonomous AI software company.

About the Role

In this role you will:

  • Build the best in class Computer Use Agents focussing on automating repetitive processes, building and testing software, performing long-horizon tasks (e.g. research, plan and execute on a complex task).
  • Build infrastructure to collect and organize suitable tasks in the form of Data and Environments for the CUA to iterate and improve on.
  • Build and evolve evaluation suites to measure the performance of CUA in real world applications.

Exceptional candidates may have:

  • Experience in developer tooling with AI first mindset for the changing world.
  • Hands-on experience architecting isolated, multi-OS environments using containerization tools like Docker, incorporating Windows, Linux, and macOS setups with pre-installed applications like Browsers, IDEs, Terminals for seamless integration.
  • Proven expertise in developing custom tools to automate, actuate, and capture interactions within these runtime environments, ideally for AI agent training or data curation purposes.

Location

  • The role is based in Palo Alto. Our team usually works from the office 5 days a week but allow work-from-home days when required. Candidates are expected to be located near Palo Alto or open to relocation.

Interview Process

After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 15 minute interview ("phone interview") during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of four technical interviews:

  • Coding assessment (2): in a language of your choice to solve a logical, algorithmic problem meant to be solved in 40 minutes setting.
  • System design: designing a scalable, reliable system for one of the real world problem demonstrating first-principles thinking by breaking down requirements, justifying architectural choices, and addressing challenges.
  • Meet the Team: Present your past exceptional work and your vision with xAI to a small audience.

Our goal is to finish the main process within one week. All interviews will be conducted via Google Meet.

Annual Salary Range

$180,000 - $440,000 USD
