Job Responsibilities: •Initiate, oversee, and provide minutes for FNMOC (Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center) Data Flow Monitoring meetings to develop specific monitoring task requirements, analysis, planning, engineering, and testing activities. •Monitor and analyze network and systems to find predictable problems that FNMOC can readily monitor with expansion of existing software tools or enhancements, specifically looking for incremental solutions with rapid return on investment. •Ensure proposed and implemented solutions are compatible with both planned and installed FNMOC systems and software solutions, as well as the use of only DoD and Navy authorized software, to enable the successful transition into the FNMOC operational environment. You will also be involved in transferring research prototypes from performance driving applications to real-world teen driving scenarios both in a driving simulator as well as real vehicle platforms. What You'll Do

  • Lead State-of-the-Art Research: Invent and implement computer vision and generative AI algorithms that push the boundaries of the field. Stay abreast of the latest advances in deep learning, visual reasoning, and large-scale data processing

Minimum Qualifications

  • Educational Background:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field + 5 years of professional experience; OR Master’s degree in a relevant field + 3 years of professional experience; OR PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a similar area.
  • Deep Learning & Computer Vision Expertise: Proven experience in building and deploying deep learning models (e.g., convolutional neural networks, visual reasoning architectures) for large-scale image or video analysis.
  • Practical Experience at Scale: Hands-on track record in processing and extracting insights from large video datasets (e.g., millions of video).
  • Research-to-Product Transition: Demonstrated ability to translate innovative computer vision, machine perception, or machine learning research into shipping products or real-world applications.
  • Generative AI Exposure: Familiarity with generative models and techniques, with a passion for applying them to real-world computer vision and safety use cases.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to lead cross-functional discussions and clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VLMs or Multi-Modal Architectures: Familiarity training or fine-tuning large Visual Language models that integrate text and visual components.
