Job Description
Job Title: IT Network Support II
Job Description: The IT Network Support specialist will provide superior support for clients regarding in-house computer equipment, software, desktops, printers and peripherals.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and network malfunctions.
- Perform minor hardware/software/network maintenance, including board replacement, cable switching, and hardware installations.
- Continuously monitor server room conditions (temperature, humidity, power interruptions) and respond to alerts.
- Provide LAN server support, including network communications hardware, software, and security.
- Maintain 30-day system data backups and manage off-site tape storage.
- Track and document network, system, and web availability, including downtime and performance degradation.
- Coordinate with vendor support services for system issues and degraded performance.
- Configure, install, and document network cabling for operational efficiency.
- Maintain and update IT blueprints, including hardware configurations, cabling diagrams, and network devices.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Able to provide support for all data center and desktop environments in a 24/7/365 environment. Polite, patient, and customer focused assistance is a must. Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications skills. Effective written communications skills. Able to maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources. Be familiar with all current hardware and software. Must be flexible to work comp time and weekends to provide emergency coverage if required. Be familiar with network operating systems. Working knowledge of Remedy Service Management, Microsoft Office, Visio and other software tools.
Education: High School Diploma and Security + Certification
Years of Experience: 3-5 years of experience
