Job Title : Senior Business Analyst (Child Welfare / CCWIS Location: Jackson, MS, Remote Rate : Best competitive rate
Position Overview
The client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst (SBA) to support a proof-of-concept initiative aimed at improving the child welfare intake process using advanced technologies, including Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning.
This role is critical in bridging business needs and technical solutions by optimizing workflows, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of a solution that enhances outcomes for at-risk children.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis & Project Alignment
Ensure project objectives align with the State's mission to improve child safety and optimize resource utilization
Contribute to refining and expanding project goals based on stakeholder input
2. Stakeholder Engagement & Discovery
Lead workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with stakeholders across all organizational levels
Analyze current intake workflows and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
Document stakeholder perspectives and business requirements
3. Process Improvement & Solution Design
Collaborate with technical teams to support the design of an enhanced intake process
Analyze and reconcile current vs. future-state workflows
Provide business insights to ensure solutions meet user needs and operational goals
Define and track key performance metrics to evaluate solution effectiveness
4. Communication & Reporting
Deliver bi-weekly status updates and monthly summary reports
Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language
Maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure transparency
5. Demonstration & Stakeholder Alignment
Coordinate and facilitate conference room demonstrations for stakeholders
Ensure solutions are effectively communicated and understood
Capture and document stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement
6. Roadmap & Strategic Planning
Contribute to the development of a roadmap for integrating new technologies into the State's ecosystem
Support long-term planning and scalability considerations
7. Agile Leadership & Delivery
Provide Scrum/Agile leadership and support iterative development
Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery
Manage scope, risks, and deliverables effectively
8. Final Reporting
Prepare and deliver a comprehensive final project report
Incorporate stakeholder feedback and finalize documentation
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst (government, public sector, or enterprise environments)
Proven experience delivering CCWIS (Child Welfare Information Systems) solutions
Experience with intake processes, call center operations, and case management workflows
Hands-on experience with at least two (2) COTS CCWIS implementations (e.g., RedMane or similar)
Strong understanding of business strategy, process improvement, and workflow optimization
Required Skills & Expertise
Expertise in conducting workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions
Strong ability to map workflows and translate requirements into actionable solutions
Experience collaborating with technical teams on complex system implementations
Proven success working in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to machine learning or NLP-driven projects
Experience quantifying business outcomes and performance improvements using data
Ability to influence stakeholders and drive organizational alignment
Experience managing scope, risks, and project deliverables
