Job Description: PURPOSE AND SCOPE This position is responsible for staging and loading dock levelers for shipment. Maintains product organization within storage yard and shipping area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position is expected to read, understand and conform to established quality guidelines. This position is also expected to demonstrate good housekeeping skills in work area and on production floor, and to follow established safety procedures around production area. Operates forklift or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Pulls parts for production department and delivers to designated locations. Conducts daily forklift inspection by checking various fluid levels. Identifies parts and bumpers from delivery tickets. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on product or containers. Secures lifting attachments to materials and moves load to destination. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. Assists production and prep area by moving bins and other materials in their work area. Interfaces with planning, supervisors, prep area and traffic personnel to effectively make decisions, set up systems and solve problems. Reads and completes forms and other paperwork as required (Bills of lading, work order, etc.). Ensures parts staging for production department relative to clear to build process. Stage and load product for shipment in a timely and accurate manner. Communicate problems and/or delays with members of prep area, production planning and traffic. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); along with at least three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires the ability to read and utilize a tape measure, the ability to read and complete forms and paperwork as required, the ability to read prints as it relates to dimensions on parts, and the ability to utilize computer system to input and retrieve data as needed. KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Forklift license is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear. Job Description:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This position is responsible for staging and loading dock levelers for shipment. Maintains product organization within storage yard and shipping area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

This position is expected to read, understand and conform to established quality guidelines. This position is also expected to demonstrate good housekeeping skills in work area and on production floor, and to follow established safety procedures around production area.

  • Operates forklift or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Pulls parts for production department and delivers to designated locations.
  • Conducts daily forklift inspection by checking various fluid levels.
  • Identifies parts and bumpers from delivery tickets. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on product or containers.
  • Secures lifting attachments to materials and moves load to destination.
  • Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
  • Assists production and prep area by moving bins and other materials in their work area.
  • Interfaces with planning, supervisors, prep area and traffic personnel to effectively make decisions, set up systems and solve problems.
  • Reads and completes forms and other paperwork as required (Bills of lading, work order, etc.).
  • Ensures parts staging for production department relative to clear to build process.
  • Stage and load product for shipment in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate problems and/or delays with members of prep area, production planning and traffic.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); along with at least three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires the ability to read and utilize a tape measure, the ability to read and complete forms and paperwork as required, the ability to read prints as it relates to dimensions on parts, and the ability to utilize computer system to input and retrieve data as needed.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Forklift license is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
