Supervise residents who self-administer medication while following community and regulatory guidelines Provide assistance as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living. Provide emotional and social support to residents. Inform supervisor of any resident issues or concerns. Respect and encourage the independence and dignity of the residents. Respect residents' confidentiality. Be familiar and comfortable with emergency equipment and procedures. Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Community. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Requires a RN license Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice, including basic knowledge related to nursing, such as drugs, biological, physical, social, and medical sciences, and their application required. Working knowledge of infection control, universal precautions and OSHA standards required. Employee works under the general supervision and guidance of the Utilities Director. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works outdoors in all weather conditions. Employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electric shock. Field inspection in varying weather conditions may be hazardous. Greases, solvents and chemicals used in the operation of equipment and analytical laboratory work can be hazardous if improperly used. 1 Maintains the required confidentiality of all work. Personnel matters, legal suits and industrial trade secrets are confidential. 2 Operates and maintains the water distribution system, the wastewater collection system, treatment plants, plumbing station and lift stations to control flow and processing of water and wastewater, sludge, and effluent to meet state permit, NPDES, or other local, state, or Federal regulations. 3 Plans, schedules and implements construction, maintenance, and operation and construction activities designed to provide quality water distribution and wastewater collection and treatment services for the City; Oversees construction and maintenance work to determine acceptability and conformance to standards. 4 Supervises the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for the water distribution and treatment system and the wastewater collection and treatment system. 5 Oversees the analysis of water, wastewater, and effluent samples to provide data for the efficient operation of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants. 6 Trains, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines employees performing the duties of maintenance, construction and repair of water distribution, wastewater collection and treatment facilities; approves/disapproves leave benefits; validates payroll. 7 Supervises the control and use of, and assumes responsibility for all materials, supplies and equipment used in the maintenance, construction and repair of water distribution and treatment systems, wastewater collection and treatment systems and other department facilities. 8 Inspects and supervises the repair of water quality equipment, sewer collection systems, pumping station, meters, and treatment plant systems at frequent intervals to ensure that all aspects of the system are functioning properly. 9 Requisitions and maintains needed supplies for the water and wastewater departments and maintains a variety of records relating to personnel, equipment, supplies, and water consumption and distribution reports. 10 Applies for and maintains the N.P.D. E. S permit and modification and sludge disposal permit; makes application and applies for annual West Virginia Laboratory Certification. 11 Oversees the sludge land application/disposal program. 12 Advises City officials in matters relating to department activities; provides information to various civic, educational, and public groups and individuals regarding water distributions, wastewater collection and treatment activities. 13 Supervises, instructs, and assists assigned crews in water distribution, wastewater collection and treatment activities. Administers external radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist to affect curative or palliative treatment of disease. Assures that the patient's position, the orientation of the treatment equipment and the placement of the treatment beam conform to the specifications of the planned course of treatment, as monitored by daily and weekly chart reviews, and accuracy through the use of image guidance. Performs simulations and localization (where available) according to established protocols and produces usable images for the planning and verifying of treatment procedures. Calculates actual monitor units in cases of emergent simulations after normal department hours. Prepares and constructs equipment, such as immobilization devices, treatment devices, and protection devices. Assists the radiation oncologists, medical dosimetrists, and medical physicists in preparing the physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans by providing information about the patient's condition and anatomy. Educates, prepares and reassures patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcing the radiation oncologists' advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care. Plans and performs procedures for the treatment and imaging of patients, meeting the quality standards of the department as identified through professional literature and department policy. Performs daily equipment warm-up and quality checks as outlined by medical physics. Documents QA as required. Reports any variances to medical physics. Determines technical charges based on procedure(s) performed and assigns appropriate CPT code. Attends and participates in departmental meetings and activities to support process improvement and team building. Applies knowledge and technical aspects of the position, maintaining professional and technical competencies as required by the organization and/or the accreditation and licensing bodies. May train and mentors students from Radiation Therapy Technology Programs. Provides feedback and assessments as required. Schedules patients for simulation and treatment procedures, often coordinating with other department schedules and patient appointments. A typical LifeVest® patient is in the hospital awaiting discharge, and the Patient Service Representative sets up the equipment and trains the patient and caregivers on the  use and care of the device. They also follow up with patients as needed to assure patient understanding and satisfaction. PSRs retain the flexibility to accept or decline assignments as their schedules dictate. Most assignments can be scheduled during free time – before/after work, and on days off.
