Put Your Mechanical Skills to Work and Grow Your Career!If you have experience in HVAC, welding, pipefitting, mechanical installation, or industrial maintenance, this role lets you apply those skills in the field while building a specialized career in the energy and public safety sector.As a Field Technician at MRR, you’ll work hands-on with mechanical systems, piping, tanks, pumps, valves, and controls at job sites across the U.S. Every project is different, and your trade experience gives you a strong head start.No odorization experience required; we provide full training. This role is based out of Philippi, WV.About MRRMRR is an industry‑defining partner in gas odorization, trusted across North America for expertise, safety, and solutions that endure. - Install, remove, and maintain odorization systems (tanks, piping, tubing, pumps, sensors, and fittings)
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
- Work with pressurized systems, valves, and fluid transfer equipment
- Safely transfer odorants and assist with spill response when needed
- Support natural gas pipeline pickling and commissioning projects
- Read and interpret mechanical diagrams and schematics
- Complete work orders, DOT documentation, and field reports using a tablet
- Travel to project sites across the U.S. (drive or fly)
Completion of post-secondary technical college program;
- Completion of post-secondary technical school or college program in mechanical or electrical engineering, pipefitting, HVAC or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
- Ability to understand mechanical drawings, piping layouts, or schematics
- Physically capable of working outdoors and on your feet
- Safety-minded with strong teamwork and communication skills
- Comfortable using basic technology for documentation
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel extensively
- HVAC installation or service
- Welding, pipefitting, or fabrication
- Mechanical or industrial maintenance
- Electrical or instrumentation exposure
- Oil & gas, utilities, construction, or industrial trades
- Full technical training in natural gas odorization
