Assists with sterilization and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment. Monitors inventory; orders; and restocks supplies, instruments, and equipment. Removes out-of-date items and discards or reprocesses following established guidelines. Assists with the general cleaning duties of the department. Performs equipment checks as assigned. Assists with the proper recording of patient charges. Call with a response time of 30 minutes. For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements: Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Dr. Casey came with an extensive background in high-quality healthcare and a commitment to improving care for women in West Virginia and beyond. Casey joined WVU Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he held numerous leadership roles, including the vice chair of Obstetrics, division director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, assistant program director of the MFM Fellowship, alternate principal investigator for the Eunice Kennedy-Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network, and interim director of the Obstetric Medical Complications Clinic. Before his time in Alabama, Casey served as MFM division director, MFM fellowship director at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, principal investigator for the Dallas MFMU Network site, and chief of Obstetrics for Parkland Health and Hospital System in Texas. He also serves as an editor of Williams Obstetrics. Casey completed his fellowship in MFM at UT Southwestern/Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas and his residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. He received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSURE:

  1. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse, completion of a Surgical Technology program, completion of a Registered Nurse program, or completion of summer surgical tech extern program OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and two (2) years of previous scrub experience.

  2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

  7. Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedure following preference cards.

  8. Assists with sterilization and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment.

  9. Monitors inventory; orders; and restocks supplies, instruments, and equipment.

  10. Removes out-of-date items and discards or reprocesses following established guidelines.

  11. Assists with the general cleaning duties of the department.

  12. Performs equipment checks as assigned.

  13. Assists with the proper recording of patient charges.

  14. Call with a response time of 30 minutes.

  1. Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.
