Maintain awareness of new developments in regulatory requirements, develop strategies for compliance, initiate permit modifications as needed, and communicate requirements to stakeholders in South Arkansas. Prepare various compliance reports required by water permits and regulations. Assure that required data is collected and validated, prepare reports for responsible party approval, and submit approved reports to appropriate agencies. Prepare internal reports for CSRD sustainablity with respect to water. Maintain documentation of necessary data and verify accuracy of data collected and entered by other contributors. Investigate and reconcile differences in data. Manage water permit requirements with plant operations to minimize deviations. Proactively monitor operations activities, water sampling data, and other factors to prevent deviations from occurring. When deviations do occur: Submit reports to ADEQ as required in permits, investigate deviations to determine root cause, work with plant operations and engineering to implement corrective actions to prevent future deviations. Assist with development of water program technicians. Interact with various personnel to achieve environmental targets with respect to water: Internal personnel (technicians, maintenance, operators, QC lab, procurement, contractors, engineering, safety), external personnel (contractors, consultants, contracted labs, governmental agencies). Requirements This position requires an undergraduate degree in engineering (chemical or environmental) or comparable science (chemistry, environmental science). Graduate degree in one of these areas is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial water compliance and permitting experience is required. Knowledge of federal regulations such as Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, SWPPP, etc. is required. Knowledge of State of Arkansas statutes and ADEQ adminstration of water permitting and regulation is highly desirable. Record of leadership in environmental compliance with demonstrated examples of accomplishments. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team setting and interact with a diverse workforce and personnel across many levels and disciplines is a must. Job Highlights

  • Manage the water program for the South Arkansas sites. Maintain awareness of new developments in regulatory requirements, develop strategies for compliance, initiate permit modifications as needed, and communicate requirements to stakeholders in South Arkansas.
  • Prepare various compliance reports required by water permits and regulations. Assure that required data is collected and validated, prepare reports for responsible party approval, and submit approved reports to appropriate agencies.
  • Prepare internal reports for CSRD sustainablity with respect to water. Maintain documentation of necessary data and verify accuracy of data collected and entered by other contributors. Investigate and reconcile differences in data.
  • Manage water permit requirements with plant operations to minimize deviations. Proactively monitor operations activities, water sampling data, and other factors to prevent deviations from occurring. When deviations do occur: Submit reports to ADEQ as required in permits, investigate deviations to determine root cause, work with plant operations and engineering to implement corrective actions to prevent future deviations.
  • Assist with development of water program technicians.
  • Interact with various personnel to achieve environmental targets with respect to water: Internal personnel (technicians, maintenance, operators, QC lab, procurement, contractors, engineering, safety), external personnel (contractors, consultants, contracted labs, governmental agencies).

Requirements

  • This position requires an undergraduate degree in engineering (chemical or environmental) or comparable science (chemistry, environmental science). Graduate degree in one of these areas is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial water compliance and permitting experience is required.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations such as Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, SWPPP, etc. is required.
  • Knowledge of State of Arkansas statutes and ADEQ adminstration of water permitting and regulation is highly desirable.
  • Record of leadership in environmental compliance with demonstrated examples of accomplishments.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team setting and interact with a diverse workforce and personnel across many levels and disciplines is a must.
