Manage Project maintenance and Equipment Vendor personnel Reports to Project Manager

Safety Leadership

  • Invest, teach, and mentor project maintenance personnel to foster "An Eye For Safety” environment at the site
  • Mitigate onsite safety risks
  • Ensure all MSHA regulations are followed and maintain site safety standards
  • Conduct and participate in monthly site safety meetings to discuss incidents, safety trends, behavior goals, etc.
  • Ensure all workplace exams are complete and accurate
  • Task training is completed correctly and stored
  • Pre-operational inspection issues are corrected, and forms are filed according to the TMG process
  • All safety documents are filed and stored on-site
  • Follow the TMG process for incident investigation and response
  • Complete incident report in HCSS Safety
  • Provide employees with a safe and healthy work environment by providing safe systems of work, safe work procedures, adequate training and instruction, and competent supervision
  • Review hazard identification, near miss, and incident reports and provide follow-up as appropriate
  • Ensure maintenance employees and contractors working within the Site Project personnel are prequalified and have the necessary commencement paperwork, competencies, and qualifications to work safely and deliver quality maintenance services (has Stop Work Authority if standards are not met)

Major Responsibilities

  • Spend considerable time in the field interacting with the workforce – Creating “visible feltleadership” ~25 to 40% of working time
  • TMG fuel and lube technicians will report to the role
  • Manager equipment vendor maintenance personnel and coordinate their site activities
  • Develop systems and foster the required collaboration to ensure the department meets monthly targets
  • Review competencies, Scopes of Work, and Schedules of Rates for all Contractors, ensuring costs are managed and controlled while complying with Contractor Controls Policies and Procedures
  • Help develop maintenance strategy objectives and ensure they are met
  • Improve Equipment/Operations Performance by Optimize Equipment & Fleet Asset Reliability
  • Ensure the effective and efficient application of maintenance resources, as measured by schedule compliance, PM compliance, the level of planned vs. unplanned work, and the ongoing management of backlog
  • Create service requests, work orders, and purchase orders for repairs/purchases in the TMG accounting systems and communicating with vendors during the purchase process
  • Assist Project Manager as needed with tracking maintenance costs and accounting
  • Participate in incident investigations (injury, high-potential, and equipment damage) to ensure that corrective actions are effectively implemented and tracked
  • Support the development and ongoing optimization of maintenance strategies for critical assets.
  • Complete performance evaluation reviews for direct reports and manage their career development.
  • Recruit for Maintenance positions. Ensure that succession planning for critical roles is in place
  • Ensure applicable maintenance training is provided as required
  • Communicate daily needs with Project team
  • Develop an equipment coordinator position if the need arises in the future
  • Manage equipment costs, repairs, rebuilds, warrantee items, and equipment replacements
  • Manage field services for operations: service and mechanics trucks, tools, etc.
  • These responsibilities are required but not limited to and others may be assigned by the Project Manager as needed

Preferred Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years Maintenance General Foreman level or higher experience in heavy industry
  • Minimum of 4 years of management of the maintenance scheduling and workflow function

Personnel Management

  • Submit hiring requests/termination requisitions to HR following the TMG process
  • Conduct interviews for maintenance employees
  • Complete employee reviews using the TMG form and submit them for approval
  • Evaluate maintenance personnel performance
  • Document employee issues/ disciplinary action, send to Project Manager and HR
  • Maintain complete knowledge of the employee handbook
