Position: Machine Operator - Full Time! Location: Red Oak, IA Pay: $22.67/hr + with room to grow! Bonus: Potential to earn a 5% bonus based on the overall performance of the plant! Who we are! Red Oak, Iowa is home to our components plant which manufactures PowerFrame grids. We have been recognized by the state of Iowa as a renewable energy partner and have received the MidAmerican Energy Clean Air Excellence Award . We opened in 2003 and employ more than 80 people and operate six days per week. Our employees give back to the community through a variety of organizations, including The United Way, Wilson Performing Arts Center, and Relay 4 Life. What you will be doing! Operation of Caster -- Start up and operation of strip caster will include monitoring lead temperature, lead flow, tundish level, pool level, and caster speed. Operator will be responsible for belt, snout, dump box, and tundish condition and will perform routine product changeovers and maintenance when necessary. Good vision required to watch the lead pool in the caster to make adjustments as necessary. Operation of Rolling Mill -- Start up and operation of the rolling mill will include monitoring pinch roll, level of accumulator, slab thickness reduction, coolant levels (concentrations) and winding of lead strip. Operator will be responsible for thread up of the rolling mill, operation of the strip take up, and strip coil changes. Routine maintenance on all associated equipment will be part of the requirements. The ability to lift slabs of lead up to 40 lbs is needed periodically in this role. Operation will be responsible for lubrication levels, grid progression, grid take up operation, scrap return, and removal of wound grids. Summary CIVCO is offering opportunities for Engineering students to gain experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and Product Design. Our Engineering Co-ops are responsible for assisting with the engineering work of their assigned department and coordinating with all departments to ensure smooth production startup. The Design Co-op assists in designing and managing projects in the area of product development with a focus on line extensions with design engineer supervision. The Quality Co-op assists in supporting sustainment activities and provides support by investigating production or process issues. The Manufacturing Co-op assists in manufacturing with new product development projects and process improvement initiatives. These positions will be located onsite at our facility in Coralville, Iowa. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.) Design Engineering Co-op: Product Design: Design/development of needle-guidance accessories, end product components/assemblies, packaging configurations, labeling & instructions. Utilizes 3D CAD (PTC Creo) Project Management: Scheduling, tracking, and communicating to mentor and design team. Coordinating deliverables and design control (DHF) documentation. Implementing entire design cycle requirements Product Support: Investigate production or process issues and complete drawing or process changes. Support Product Line Management, Marketing and Production staff Continuous Process Improvement: Evaluate internal process and give process improvement ideas & implementation strategies Quality Engineering Co-op: Product Development & Design Control: Complete assigned quality and manufacturing verification and validation for new and existing products. Complete changes to associated standard operating procedures, drawings, and or change orders. Manufacturing Support: Document and perform manufacturing project qualification or verification activities to increase productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing areas. Continuing Process Improvement: Evaluate internal process and give process improvement ideas & implementation strategies. Support internal and external audits. Production Support: Investigate production or process issues and help drive associated process or drawing changes. Manufacturing Engineering Co-op: New Product Development: supports through identification and creation of packaging specifications, creation of infection control product drawings (cover) utilizing 3D CAD (Creo), supporting Design for Manufacturability evaluation, and creation and testing of fixture development Manufacturing Process Improvement initiatives: support includes creation and documentation of processes and developing Standard Operating Procedures Product Support and Sustainment: includes investigation and testing to support CAPA, support non-PDP project by managing Juarez Single Work Order process, 3D printing activities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
