The purpose of this position is to provide instruction for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides teaching and guidance to students taking ACLS and/or PALS courses.
  • Ensures classroom and supplies are prepared for class.
  • Follows teaching criteria outlined by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Certified ACLS and or PALS provider.
  • Current ACLS or PALS Instructor certifications or the ability to obtain with in 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to teach at a minimum of 1 class per month.
  • Ability to attend an annual, mandatory skills training/maintenance and sign-off session.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Previous teaching/training experience preferred.
