Job Description

The University of Findlay invites applications for a non-tenure track position in chemistry beginning August 2026 in the College of Sciences for an Assistant Professor of Teaching/Lab Manager in Chemistry. A Ph.D. in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field is required. ABD applicants will be considered, but the terminal degree must be obtained prior to the appointment start date. Those candidates who possess only an M.S. in chemistry, biology or a closely field will be considered for an instructor position. Candidates must be committed to student-centered education as well as lab management duties within the Department of Physical Sciences, as the position will support both the chemistry program and a variety of STEM areas across campus.

The candidate must possess strong communication skills and a desire to work with students in a university setting that prides itself on providing close relationships between students and faculty. The University of Findlay assumes responsibility for assignment of faculty to courses and committee assignments, student advising, and input for curriculum planning. The rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications for the position.
