JOB DESCRIPTION FOX Corporation's Legal Technology group is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team as a Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs- Technology. The Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs- Technology will play a key role in advising on technology solutions across the organization, and structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of technology agreements. The Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs- Technology will be working collaboratively with subject matter experts within our legal teams (e.g., Data Security & Privacy and Ad Sales), and cross-functionally with colleagues across our organization, including Technology, Ad Sales, Product and Data Science teams, to advise on technology issues relating to all aspects of FOX's media businesses, including, but not limited to ad tech, procurement, artificial intelligence enablement, and consumer-facing product and platform initiatives. You will collaborate closely with privacy counsel and information security to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions throughout the company. You are a proactive and collaborative team player, who is excited to learn and be challenged. The Legal Technology team is fast-paced and collaborative, as we work on challenging technical and legal issues in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Corporation's Legal Technology group is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team as a Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs- Technology. The Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs- Technology will play a key role in advising on technology solutions across the organization, and structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of technology agreements. The Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs- Technology will be working collaboratively with subject matter experts within our legal teams (e.g., Data Security & Privacy and Ad Sales), and cross-functionally with colleagues across our organization, including Technology, Ad Sales, Product and Data Science teams, to advise on technology issues relating to all aspects of FOX's media businesses, including, but not limited to ad tech, procurement, artificial intelligence enablement, and consumer-facing product and platform initiatives. You will collaborate closely with privacy counsel and information security to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions throughout the company. You are a proactive and collaborative team player, who is excited to learn and be challenged. The Legal Technology team is fast-paced and collaborative, as we work on challenging technical and legal issues in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

This position is based in our Los Angeles office.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Structure, draft, review, and negotiate various commercial, technology, and software licensing agreements, including MSAs, SaaS agreements, and associated privacy and data processing terms (e.g., DPAs), consulting agreements, website terms of service, EULAs and ad sales agreements
  • Provide contractual and strategic guidance to internal clients, including identifying practical business solutions that balance the need to achieve business objectives while mitigating risk
  • Review, update, and develop AI legal-related internal resources, such as tools, trackers, policies, and other documentation, and oversee the review and approval process for AI technology enablement, including reviewing and advising on AI provisions in vendor agreements
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to confidently collaborate with client stakeholders and legal team members
  • Manage a high-volume workload of multiple projects efficiently and smoothly by effectively prioritizing and escalating matters, as needed
  • Remain up to date on relevant consumer protection, data use, privacy, and data security laws and regulations, as well as on technological developments and evolving industry standards, to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound compliance advice

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctor Degree from a top-tier ABA-accredited U.S. law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of California or Registered In-House Counsel
  • 8+ years of combined, relevant experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house in a media/entertainment/technology company environment desirable
  • Substantial experience with commercial technology licensing (e.g., SaaS) and other procurement transactions, as well as demonstrated experience with ad tech and artificial intelligence and related technologies
  • Excellent negotiating and drafting skills, with a strong eye for detail and sharp analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically balance necessary legal protections with practical business needs
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and collaboratively, with good judgment to know when to escalate an issue
  • Exceptional leadership, judgment, and relationship management skills

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience negotiating contract terms around compliance with privacy and data security laws (e.g., VPPA, CPRA, GDPR)
  • Experience working with product and data science teams

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $222,500.00-304,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
