PART-TIME or FULL-TIME | SEASONAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE The Server takes orders for and serves meals to patrons in the dining room in a professional, friendly and courteous manner while performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned) Takes food and drink orders and enters them into the POS for transmittal to the kitchen staff. Engages with guests in a friendly manner and ensures excellent guest service (ie. making eye contact). Possesses a knowledge of the food, beer, wine and alcohol menus with the ability to make suggestions. Makes recommendations and memorizes/presents food and beverage daily specials. Follows and enforces allergy policies and protocols. Ensures guests receive proper order and are enjoying their meals. Takes proper action to identify any problems and provide resolution. Prepares checks and collects payment appropriately and accurately. Prepares dining and seating areas by cleaning and ensuring service areas are stocked. Removes tableware between courses and resets tables for next course. Clears tables, floors and windowsills after guests leave and resets them for next guests. Maintains side work throughout shift and vacuums/cleans restaurant as needed. Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position. OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to speak and understand the French language is preferred. Excellent customer service skills required. Keep reading. The Hotel Maintenance Tech 2 maintains and repairs resort buildings and grounds by performing the following duties. Respond to emergency work orders/requests in a timely manner. Follow all applicable resort safety standards and policies at all times. Performs required tests, chemical treatment, and filter changes, on all heating and cooling system loops to maintain proper water quality standards. Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on all fitness center equipment as required. Performs daily checks on the Resort Building Management System, and repairs or reports problems, or issues. Treat our customers and guests with courtesy and respect and provide the highest level of customer service possible. Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor. Cleans internal areas of buildings and mechanical spaces; including buffing, dusting, sweeping and mopping. Washes windows as directed. Empties trash and recycling containers and transport to the compactors as directed. Paints interior and exterior walls and trim and floors. Perform parking lot and sidewalk repairs as directed. Operates snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks, roofs and equipment as needed. Maintains and repairs buildings' plumbing, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment as directed. Maintains and repair building exteriors as needed. Assist other departments as needed or directed. Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts in machines and equipment such as truck, street sweeper, and riding mower. Assists other departments with moving furniture, unloading and storing supplies. Performs all tasks as directed by hotel and building maintenance manages. Keeps logs of tasks performed and maintenance calls. Keep reading.   SUMMARY The Waterpark Facilities/Maintenance Manager plans, organizes and directs a large-scale building maintenance program including plumbing, carpentry, electrical components and systems, painting, HVAC systems and small engines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned) Supervises, coordinates and implements all operational aspects of the maintenance department including, but not limited to hiring, training, daily scheduling, and park operations.  Responsible for updating or drafting job descriptions, manuals and policies for all maintenance staff.  Daily monitoring of equipment, attractions, and facility through the use of opening/closing and daily maintenance checklist.  Reviews requests for repairs, maintenance, and alteration of park facilities; makes recommendations on the technical feasibility of initiating major repair projects; determines priorities; creates work assignments for subordinate supervisors; answer complaints or requests from departmental offices.  Knows the methods and procedures needed to evaluate the effectiveness of the maintenance program.  Develops a Preventative Maintenance (PM) plan for the Jay Peak Indoor Water Park campus and any other assigned areas.  Demonstrates the ability to be a team player with the flexibility necessary to both function effectively in a management role as well as using hands on techniques to train subordinates and complete tasks when necessary.  Sees the items that need attention and assign them for completion as necessary.  Ensures all new hired employees represent "Raised Jay" spirit to guests and employees.  Reviews maintenance activities and improves the effectiveness of the department's operations and repair projects.  Devises effective operational work schedules for all staff.  Interprets thoroughly the blueprints, sketches and specifications from technical plans, repair plans, and contract plans what is necessary from the maintenance department from the start of a project through the conclusion or beginning of daily operation.  Prepares and maintains work records and reports.  Achieves and maintains effective working relationships with associates, contractors, and the general public.  Paces cost controls on repairs or new projects.  Assigns and directs work in order to maximize utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials.  Reporting, quality control, and tracking systems for monitoring contract agreements.  Expresses ideas effectively both orally and in writing.  Constantly reviews operations to improve the effectiveness of the department.  Exercises significant judgement in resolving problems that arise in normal building operations.  Has the ability to learn building operational procedures and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a Manager on Duty including the ability to perform opening and closing responsibilities.  Learns and operates all functions of the various hardware and software used throughout the park.  Is involved with the aquatics department to ensure all areas of the aquatic floor remain in good repair.  Attends staff meetings as necessary and is a part of the management team.  Ensures that all required licenses and permits for the entire water park are kept current. Establishes quality control and safety standards, develops budget and expense controls in departments of responsibility.  Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or un-related to original position. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises 3-5 employees in the Maintenance department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. The Server takes orders for and serves meals to patrons in the dining room in a professional, friendly and courteous manner while performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Takes food and drink orders and enters them into the POS for transmittal to the kitchen staff.
  • Engages with guests in a friendly manner and ensures excellent guest service (ie. making eye contact).
  • Possesses a knowledge of the food, beer, wine and alcohol menus with the ability to make suggestions.
  • Makes recommendations and memorizes/presents food and beverage daily specials.
  • Follows and enforces allergy policies and protocols.
  • Ensures guests receive proper order and are enjoying their meals.
  • Takes proper action to identify any problems and provide resolution.
  • Prepares checks and collects payment appropriately and accurately.
  • Prepares dining and seating areas by cleaning and ensuring service areas are stocked.
  • Removes tableware between courses and resets tables for next course.
  • Clears tables, floors and windowsills after guests leave and resets them for next guests.
  • Maintains side work throughout shift and vacuums/cleans restaurant as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Point of Sales and Order Processing software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be certified by the Vermont Department of Liquor Control (every 2 years) preferred. Opportunity to attend the seminar will be provided in some cases.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to speak and understand the French language is preferred. Excellent customer service skills required. Must have the ability to multi-task and maintain focus/composure in a fast-paced environment.
