We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Development Engineer to support Purchasing and Supplier Quality. In this role you will be responsible for working with the Purchasing team to evaluate current and potential supplier capabilities, assist in the onboarding for suppliers to be included in the approved suppliers list, develop supplier improvement plans, and otherwise improve delivery, and cost performance throughout the supply chain. Successful candidates will proactively problem-solve and drive overall supplier development to ensure delivery, quality, and pricing excellence. How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: Support the Purchasing team in sourcing parts aligned to supplier competencies and capacities. Share in-depth knowledge regarding the manufacturing methods of piece parts, assemblies, tooling, and equipment. Assist in on-site supplier assessments such as rate readiness reviews to identify supplier capacity and capability to perform current and projected statements of work. Identify and champion product improvements to improve producibility, lower risk, and reduce costs. Assist Beta Purchasing and Supplier Quality in developing, and executing, product development plans, corrective action plans, etc. ensuring successful/compliant product is delivered on time. Assist the Supplier Quality and Purchasing team in analyzing supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify trends and pinpoint systemic performance gaps and root causes to drive supplier improvement plans As required, act as a technical liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to provide technical support Assist the Supplier Quality Team in driving effective corrective actions to resolve complex manufacturing defects and eliminate root cause Demonstrate innovation, technical excellence, attention to detail, self-direction, and courage Collaborate across BETA (design, supply chain, manufacturing, and aftermarket) to efficiently build parts on schedule Assist suppliers in the development and revision of production processes, procedures, equipment, tooling, and layouts. Minimum Qualifications We are seeking: 3-5 years of composite manufacturing experience (tooling concepts, layup, trim/drill, and NDI) BA/BS degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent years of experience US Person Experience in using Digital Product Definition, 2D drawings, drafting standards, and GD&T Flexibility and comfort in working in a quickly changing environment. BETA is seeking a motivated, process-oriented Material Handler to join our growing team.This position will focus on the use of a forklift, cart, and other material handling equipment to move materials between receiving/shipping, bulk storage, and production areas at our electric aircraft manufacturing facility. Material Handlers will execute signals from the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to efficiently and accurately move materials between locations. In conjunction with material movement, Material Handlers will follow WMS and Team tasking to execute other activities in the warehouse and manufacturing spaces including cycle counting, kitting, space consolidation, and labeling. Material Handlers will work closely with Shipping/Receiving and Inventory team members in the execution of their duties. An ideal candidate for this role is goal driven, detail focused, system and process oriented, forklift qualified, with experience in inventory and logistics. How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: Operate a forklift during the routine performance of duties. Unload, inspect, and stage inbound materials for receiving activities. Break down and decant inbound received materials for component bulk storage. Complete put-away transactions from staging to bulk storage locations. Replenish items for production activities by picking components from bulk storage to stage for kitting and production jobs. Execute kitting of components for delivery to production work centers. Move completed assemblies and finished goods from the production area to bulk storage. Pick items from bulk storage to stage for shipment to other BETA locations and customers. Load outbound items onto trucks for shipment. Ensure all items are labeled and accurately scan and transact all material movements via warehouse management system (WMS) handheld devices. Troubleshoot WMS issues to ensure accurate replenishment signals. Conduct inventory cycle counts and physical inventories as directed. Identify, physically segregate, and transact inventory status for damaged materials. Maintain a clean work environment, and comply with safety requirements. Conduct inspection and routine maintenance on assigned material handling equipment. Perform area housekeeping and organization activities to maintain a 5S compliant environment. Recognize waste streams and minimize use of packaging materials to support BETA’s sustainability efforts. Comply with applicable regulations when handling hazardous materials. Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide input on ways to improve accuracy and efficiency. Ability to work across multiple BETA sites if necessary. Contribute to our team effort by being good to work with and supporting the broader Logistics and Production Teams as needed. Minimum Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent. Forklift power lifting equipment experience. All-around good person and fun to work with. Previous work in a manufacturing environment with experience in aerospace, automotive, or a startup preferred. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. The Surveyor will serve as a team member or team leader on various types of surveys (i.e. re-certification, comparative, complaint investigation, and revisits) for long-term care and non-long-term care surveys, which can include; ambulatory surgical centers (ASC), Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICFs/IID), end-stage renal disease (ESRD), Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), hospital, critical access hospital, and hospice facilities. Surveyors travel to healthcare facilities nationally conducting surveys to assess compliance with requirements and regulations guiding the quality of care for residents/customers of the facilities. The responsibility of the Surveyor is to apply approved survey protocols for conducting on-site surveys. Specific activities include the following: Conduct on-site surveys of Medicare-Medicaid certified health care facilities to determine compliance with Federal regulations. Surveys require preparations such as off-site preparation, tour of the facility, observation of care, record review, interviews of staff and families, etc. Determine if care, treatment, and services are consistent with Federal requirements. Evaluate many aspects of the healthcare facility system from the quality of care to the consumers’ rights and physical plant. Communicate the non-compliance issues with key personnel throughout the site review and during the exit conference to assure an understanding of the deficiencies cited. Determine if a plan of correction is acceptable. Conduct follow-up visits and monitoring surveys to ascertain if facilities’ plans of correction to resolve the deficient practice have been implemented. Training: Assist with facility and bureau training. Participate in work groups as needed Requirements Must have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing Must have successfully completed CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT). Must have At least two (2) years of recent experience working as a surveyor accrediting or certifying facilities that serve the residents of long-term care facilities. Must maintain current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN). Demonstrated a history of independent decision-making skills to direct and effectively manage the survey process. Ability to set priorities independently and collectively in performing survey tasks. Ability to openly discuss conflicts/controversy, and to seek assistance when appropriate to make decisions and resolve conflicts. Ability to travel up to 75% of the time on a regular basis is required. We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Development Engineer to support Purchasing and Supplier Quality. In this role you will be responsible for working with the Purchasing team to evaluate current and potential supplier capabilities, assist in the onboarding for suppliers to be included in the approved suppliers list, develop supplier improvement plans, and otherwise improve delivery, and cost performance throughout the supply chain. Successful candidates will proactively problem-solve and drive overall supplier development to ensure delivery, quality, and pricing excellence.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
- Support the Purchasing team in sourcing parts aligned to supplier competencies and capacities.
- Share in-depth knowledge regarding the manufacturing methods of piece parts, assemblies, tooling, and equipment.
- Assist in on-site supplier assessments such as rate readiness reviews to identify supplier capacity and capability to perform current and projected statements of work.
- Identify and champion product improvements to improve producibility, lower risk, and reduce costs.
- Assist Beta Purchasing and Supplier Quality in developing, and executing, product development plans, corrective action plans, etc. ensuring successful/compliant product is delivered on time.
- Assist the Supplier Quality and Purchasing team in analyzing supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify trends and pinpoint systemic performance gaps and root causes to drive supplier improvement plans
- As required, act as a technical liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to provide technical support
- Assist the Supplier Quality Team in driving effective corrective actions to resolve complex manufacturing defects and eliminate root cause
- Demonstrate innovation, technical excellence, attention to detail, self-direction, and courage
- Collaborate across BETA (design, supply chain, manufacturing, and aftermarket) to efficiently build parts on schedule
- Assist suppliers in the development and revision of production processes, procedures, equipment, tooling, and layouts.
Minimum Qualifications We are seeking:
- 3-5 years of composite manufacturing experience (tooling concepts, layup, trim/drill, and NDI)
- BA/BS degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent years of experience
- US Person
- Experience in using Digital Product Definition, 2D drawings, drafting standards, and GD&T
- Flexibility and comfort in working in a quickly changing environment.
- Direct experience working in a Lean/Manufacturing Engineering position
- Must be willing to travel on short notice
- Must be able to work in a factory environment for extended periods
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
- Experience in leading aerospace operations or manufacturing teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically or internationally
- Knowledge of manual/automated drilling techniques, tooling, robotics, and hardware
- Knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, or interiors will be considered an asset
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing system tools
- Understanding of design for assembly, lean manufacturing, and capacity planning techniques
- Experience in drafting and implementing manufacturing and quality processes.
