Heavy Truck / Diesel Technician, Road Service

SUMMARY:

The Heavy Truck / Diesel Technician position requires a strong mechanical aptitude. Our team of technicians service; including repair, install and maintain a variety of pieces of heavy equipment including hydrovacs, vac trucks, street sweeper, refuse and recycling equipment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment failures and perform hydraulic, electrical and mechanical repairs on various types of equipment
  • Perform diagnostics to determine repairs required
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with the Parts & Service teams on job progress and status changes
  • Update work order system
  • Maintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service vans

ABOUT YOU:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education from an accredited technical school in diesel engine/hydraulics/heavy equipment repair preferred but not required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a mechanic / technician role
  • Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work
