Job Title:     Heavy Truck Mechanic - Richmond Major Role and Purpose :  Diagnose and repair heavy dump trucks, ready mix trucks, and truck fleet maintenance issues. Description of Duties : Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Assist in ensuring DOT rules and guidelines are met for DOT trucks and notify the supervisor when these guidelines are not being adhered to.  Assist in the repair and overhaul of the various equipment which will include insofar as is practical, autos and trucks, pumps, air compressors, transmissions, controls, and accessories, etc. Assist in the role of the field mechanic to make the repairs necessary in the field and perform preventive maintenance practices necessary to increase service life of the equipment. Perform random inspections to ensure all DOT regulations are being performed. Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned. Participate in paving handwork tasks, such as raking, shoveling, and smoothing asphalt by hand in tight areas or along edges. Qualifications and Skills: Hold a valid Crane Operator Certification Possess a valid Class A CDL with Hazmat "H" endorsement Minimum 3 years of crane operating experience in an oilfield or heavy industrial setting At least 25 years of age Clean driving record: No major violations on MVR or PSP in the past 5 years Must pass a DOT drug test Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) Job Duties: Operate mobile or truck-mounted cranes to lift, move, position, and place equipment or materials Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance of crane equipment to ensure safety and compliance Work closely with riggers and ground crew to execute lifts safely and efficiently Monitor load indicators, boom angles, and crane capacity to prevent overloading Transport crane to various job sites as needed and assist with setup/tear-down procedures Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including job tickets and inspection reports Follow all DOT and OSHA regulations and company safety procedures Maintain professionalism and communication with dispatch and field teams #INDROHP Powered by JazzHR

Key Duties: A valid CDL class A or B with good driving record is required Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently Tanker Endorsement is a plus Demonstrates safety 1st Identifies and turns in near miss reports Speaks up when sees unsafe act Nighttime and weekend hours are possible Operate vacuum truck Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Requires High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing and reasoning skills) and 2-3 years of experience operating vacuum trucks (or similar equipment). Additional experience in related work (emergency response, manual labor, general construction, industrial cleaning) is preferred. A valid Class “B” or “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements is required. • OSHA 40-HR is desired but not required. Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well continued verifications throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees. Physical Demands: The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Vacuum Truck Driver to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties Frequently work with hands extended overhead, sometimes in conjunction with the operation of hand power tools. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds individually and up to 90 pounds with assistance. Manual dexterity to hand-carry generators, lumber and other construction materials, forms, power tools, and hand tools. Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment. Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions. Capable of safely and productively operating a man-lift. The Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Vacuum Truck Driver encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project. Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
