Job Title:     Heavy Truck Mechanic - Hampton Major Role and Purpose :  Diagnose and repair heavy dump trucks, ready mix trucks, and truck fleet maintenance issues. Description of Duties : Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Assist in ensuring DOT rules and guidelines are met for DOT trucks and notify the supervisor when these guidelines are not being adhered to.  Assist in the repair and overhaul of the various equipment which will include insofar as is practical, autos and trucks, pumps, air compressors, transmissions, controls, and accessories, etc. Assist in the role of the field mechanic to make the repairs necessary in the field and perform preventive maintenance practices necessary to increase service life of the equipment. Perform random inspections to ensure all DOT regulations are being performed. Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned. Education: High School Diploma / GED Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience with heavy trucks preferred. Skills Required Effective communication and organization skills. Diagnose and repair heavy Dump Trucks, Ready Mix Trucks, and light-duty vehicles. Mechanical aptitude. Effective communication and organization skills. Job Title:   Heavy Truck Mechanic - Hampton

Major Role and Purpose

  • Diagnose and repair heavy dump trucks, ready mix trucks, and truck fleet maintenance issues.

Description of Duties:

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Assist in ensuring DOT rules and guidelines are met for DOT trucks and notify the supervisor when these guidelines are not being adhered to. 
  • Assist in the repair and overhaul of the various equipment which will include insofar as is practical, autos and trucks, pumps, air compressors, transmissions, controls, and accessories, etc.
  • Assist in the role of the field mechanic to make the repairs necessary in the field and perform preventive maintenance practices necessary to increase service life of the equipment.
  • Perform random inspections to ensure all DOT regulations are being performed.
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.

Education:

  • High School Diploma / GED

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with heavy trucks preferred.

Skills Required

  • Effective communication and organization skills.
  • Diagnose and repair heavy Dump Trucks, Ready Mix Trucks, and light-duty vehicles.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
