About the Team: The Development Fleet Operations team is responsible for the safe testing and operation of the newest technologies. As an Operations Specialist you will contribute to the daily driving and testing of autonomous trucks, own the safety of the operation, and provide feedback on system performance and behaviors while hauling commercial freight. This position is located in Dallas, TX. Responsibilities: Safely operate autonomous trucks on the public roads to support development testing and commercial pilot operations. Haul commercial freight between customer locations and/or meet points. Provide feedback on system performance to advance self-driving technology. Utilize internal tools on a smartphone/tablet to track work assigned and completed. Uphold industry-leading safety standards, remaining compliant with internal benchmarks. Remain alert and attentive while operating during extended stretches of autonomy. Occasional business travel may be required Qualifications: Maintain a current Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Airbrake endorsement. Minimum of 3+ years of experience with Class A driving with a clean driving record. The ability to work up to 5 days in a row on all shifts while utilizing the sleeper cab Required to be able to successfully complete practical road test. Must be able to pass a DOT Physical and maintain a valid medical examiners certificate. Must be able to successfully complete & pass pre-employment background, drug & breath alcohol screens; to include inquiries into prior employment and drug & alcohol testing history. Thorough understanding and application of OSHA, DOT, FMCSA regulations with a functional understanding of commercial vehicle equipment and inspection including Electronic Logging Devices (ELD). About the Team:

The Development Fleet Operations team is responsible for the safe testing and operation of the newest technologies. As an Operations Specialist you will contribute to the daily driving and testing of autonomous trucks, own the safety of the operation, and provide feedback on system performance and behaviors while hauling commercial freight.

Responsibilities: 

  • Safely operate autonomous trucks on the public roads to support development testing and commercial pilot operations.
  • Haul commercial freight between customer locations and/or meet points.
  • Provide feedback on system performance to advance self-driving technology.
  • Utilize internal tools on a smartphone/tablet to track work assigned and completed. 
  • Uphold industry-leading safety standards, remaining compliant with internal benchmarks.
  • Remain alert and attentive while operating during extended stretches of autonomy.

Qualifications: 

  • Maintain a current Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Airbrake endorsement. 
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience with Class A driving with a clean driving record.
  • The ability to work up to 5 days in a row on all shifts while utilizing the sleeper cab
  • Required to be able to successfully complete practical road test.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Physical and maintain a valid medical examiners certificate. 
  • Must be able to successfully complete & pass pre-employment background, drug & breath alcohol screens; to include inquiries into prior employment and drug & alcohol testing history.
  • Must be able to successfully complete & maintain all requirements for enrollment in the DOT FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Consortium & Clearinghouse.
  • Will be required to complete a sleep apnea screening within 30 days of their required physical examination in conjunction with their Medical Examination Certificate renewal or date of hire, whichever occurs first.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding and application of OSHA, DOT, FMCSA regulations with a functional understanding of commercial vehicle equipment and inspection including Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use a smartphone/tablet.
