Checks vehicle before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading positions, follows signals from loading crew as needed, checks that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. Drives trucks with capacities greater than 26,000 lbs, including tankers, rolloffs and vans, in order to transport and deliver waste or other materials. Secures cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, and/or covers. Reads shipping paperwork (i.e., bills of lading and manifests) to determine assignment details. Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles in accordance with company policy. Maintains truck interior and safety of equipment and personal protective equipment. Maintains a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no at-fault accidents for the past three years and no major convictions. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Two years of current over-the-road tanker experience, including hauling liquid tankers, is required. A valid driver license with a Hazmat Class A CDL endorsement is required. Delivery and loading experience, use of liftgates. A background in warehouse operations and logistics, including shipping, receiving or delivery. Good communication and customer service skills as well as general digital literacy Responsibilities: Deliver materials to the customer, which includes assistance with loading and unloading and ensuring delivery of ticket with material Pick up customer returns, validating product match for credit requests Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and regulations Follow and implement all company safety policies and procedures Assist warehouse personnel with pulling and preparing orders for shipment as needed, as well as receiving, verifying, staging and stocking incoming material Ability to work overtime as needed Pre-employment drug and background screening required* At Ferguson, we care for each other. Pay Range: $19.26 - $30.76 Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles. This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
