The UHealth system at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Pharmacy Technician 3 at our UHealth Deerfield location. The Pharmacist Technician 3 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs, in addition to hazardous or other advanced level compounding. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records. Fills orders and prepares labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals. Implements inventory control procedures and ordering supplies within regulatory guidelines. Anticipates pharmacy medication dispensing needs. Responsible for hazardous, specialized, or advanced level compounding, which may include chemotherapy, epidural, ophthalmology, CADD pumps, and TPNs. Serves as a Pharmacy Technician Coordinator, as needed. May also be cross trained in major department roles and responsibilities of a pharmacy technician. Participates in a temporary taskforce/short-term committee. Resolves problems related to prescription inquiries. Performs the preceptor role in the training of students and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians. Serves as a mentor or role model. Stays abreast of advanced knowledge and proficient practice in pharmacy dispensing, medication dispensing systems, controlled substance distribution to floors, pre-packing and any other pharmacy technician duties. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. The Pharmacist Technician 3 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs, in addition to hazardous or other advanced level compounding.
