Collaborate with IT and informatics teams to enhance pharmacy informatics systems, ensuring accurate medication records and efficient data management. Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve workflow, safety, and patient care outcomes. Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy learners (i.e., students and residents). Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high-quality patient care. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing pharmacy practice. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to medication dispensing, inventory control, controlled substances, and sterile compounding. Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits. Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure the safe and effective use of medications. Investigate and resolve medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and other safety concerns. Collaborate with clinical staff to develop and implement medication management protocols. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Actively participate in hospital committees and interdisciplinary meetings to contribute to medication management strategies and policies. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and improve operational efficiencies within the pharmacy department. Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the pharmacy budget, including forecasting expenses and revenue.
