Location BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital Title Pharmacy Intern - Inpatient Pharmacy PRN Performs duties appropriate to a pharmacist in training. This includes mostly technical tasks similar to those performed by Unit Dose Technicians and IV Admixture Technicians. This also includes tasks normally performed by a pharmacist such as physician order screening, computer order entry, and completion of complex tasks in the IV Room under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The pharmacy intern is under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist at all times. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and enrollment in an accredited school of pharmacy is required. Pharmacy Intern license in good standing with the State of Michigan Familiarity with computers, pharmaceutical math skills, and communication skills for dealing with co-workers, nurses and physicians Work which is constantly and exceptionally tiring mentally and/or visually. Conditions exist more than 90% of the work time. Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects. The pharmacy intern may be asked to perform any of the combined cumulative responsibilities through the time of their internship as the competencies are obtained. Performs duties appropriate to a pharmacist in training. This includes mostly technical tasks similar to those performed by Unit Dose Technicians and IV Admixture Technicians. This also includes tasks normally performed by a pharmacist such as physician order screening, computer order entry, and completion of complex tasks in the IV Room under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The pharmacy intern is under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist at all times. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and enrollment in an accredited school of

pharmacy is required.

Pharmacy Intern license in good standing with the State of Michigan

Familiarity with computers, pharmaceutical math skills, and communication skills for dealing with co-workers, nurses and physicians

Work which is constantly and exceptionally tiring mentally and/or visually. Conditions exist more than 90% of the work time.

Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects.
