The Pharmacy Manager is a key position that has a substantial impact with our consumers and clinic partners by partnering and advising both on our pharmaceutical care services and benefits. This pharmacist is responsible for the financial, clinical and quality for pharmacy services and will oversee the daily operations of a pharmacy including dispensing prescription medication and spending one-on-one time with the consumers. Essential Responsibilities: In partnership with Internal Auditors, Compliance staff and Pharmacy leadership, develop formal internal auditing and monitoring plans to assess pharmacy compliance with all State, Federal and internal business rules and regulations. Perform routine independent and objective monitoring activities of all Pharmacy Services business operations, publish results and report out to Pharmacy leadership, Compliance Department, quality committees and other PacificSource leadership teams as applicable. Respond to all compliance related inquiries from internal Compliance Department staff and external auditors in a timely, professional and accurate manner to ensure minimal organizational and operational impact. Develop Pharmacy Department policies and procedures as applicable and ensure regular maintenance to reflect new practices and guidance. Provide interpretation, training, and implementation of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial regulations and communicate them appropriately with respective departments and teams. Provide oversight of Pharmacy Benefit Manager operations through the following actions: attending weekly meetings; review and approve external communications; and monitor operational performance reports. Support FWA efforts by identifying cases, conducting preliminary research, and interfacing with the FWA team on findings. Support NCQA best practices, including operational processes and policy development. Support ongoing communication efforts. Maintaining compliant member, pharmacy and provider communications updates in accordance to current models and best practices. The Pharmacy Manager is a key position that has a substantial impact with our consumers and clinic partners by partnering and advising both on our pharmaceutical care services and benefits. This pharmacist is responsible for the financial, clinical and quality for pharmacy services and will oversee the daily operations of a pharmacy including dispensing prescription medication and spending one-on-one time with the consumers. Coaching, developing and managing pharmacy staff is also a key responsibility of this role. The manager will act as a talent steward and proactively seek top talent for the pharmacy roles.

Pharmacy Location: 10 Weston St., Skowhegan, ME

Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creates a great consumer and clinic partner experience and continually builds strong relationships with both groups to proactively meet their needs
  • Serves as an expert to the clinical staff and proactively meets with their team on meeting their clinical outcomes
  • Counsels and educates patients on the usage of medications, adverse effects, schedules and any personal questions from the consumers
  • Ensures the pharmacy and team members follow policies and standards in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Performs wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots and other preventive services
  • Responsible for financial profitability and identifies opportunities to drive growth in the pharmacy
  • Motivates, develops and coaches all pharmacy staff to ensure they are meeting their potential and delivering exceptional service
  • Creates an engaging team environment which promotes compassion and models our core values and culture amongst the team
  • Proactively promotes opportunities and recruiting top talent at our pharmacies
  • Reviews key performance indicators with pharmacy staff and identifies trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Conducts workforce planning and business planning to have operational excellence at the site
  • Builds strong relationships with the community, stakeholders and clinic partners to ensure we are meeting all needs and promote the pharmacy business
  • Drives marketing plans and materials to promote all pharmacy offerings

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
  • Current pharmacist's license in the state of Maine
  • Certified immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 3 months of hire
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of pharmacy leadership experience
  • Authorization to administer long-acting injectables or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
