About Stock Technician Team

This Team is currently comprised of 5 Stock Tech Pharmacy Technicians who support Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals. This Stock Team Technician would flex between the two sites, as needed, to support workloads and PTO. Team goal is to efficiently and to safely process daily workload tasks. We welcome fresh eyes and questioning attitudes about how processes work. We like our team to take the initiative when recognizing/escalating process improvements and we empower them to do so independently. The Team is made up of a small group, working in close quarters, so being a true team player is imperative.

Scope of Work

The Pharmacy Stock Technician will support inventory control related activities at Butterworth Hospital in collaboration with the Inventory Control Coordinators, Pharmacy Buyer, and Inventory Control Specialist.

• Receives inventory from the pharmacy wholesaler (Cardinal) and other vendors as needed
• Ensures inventory received matches expected order quantity
• Complies with DCSCA requirements for receiving and shipping medications
• Manually restocks OR fluid carts
• Manually pulls fluids for Pyxis replenishment
• Manages overstock area and rotates stock as appropriate
• Completes warehouse order as directed
• Ensures all received products are put away and/or transitioned to assigned staff member in specific area restocking
• Completes pharmacy returns in collaboration with the Pharmacy Buyer
• Completes validation in EMR for all products that are received
• Serves as point of contact for overstock supply in pharmacy storeroom
• Collaborates with Pharmacy Buyer at Butterworth on incoming and outgoing shipments
• Adjust work area as needed to ensure inventory is appropriately housed
• Ensure work environment is organized and clean
• Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
• Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
• Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
• Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Corewell Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred Associate's Degree
• Hospital experience Preferred
• LIC-Pharmacist Intern- STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
• LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp- STATE_MI State of Michigan Must obtain full licensure w/in 90 days of hire. Upon Hire required And
• LIC-Pharmacy Technician- STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
• CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes- LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes- LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
• Ideal candidate will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and National Certification, such as PTCB or ExCPT
• Pharmacy Inventory Control, Receiving, or Stocking experience would be a great plus
• Ideal candidate will be someone who is personable, able to multitask, self-motivated, dedicated, a critical thinker, and who has a team mentality
• This is a physically demanding job and some of the shipping cases can be upwards of 45-50 lbs.
• Ideal candidate will be flexible on hours worked, with the potential to flex upwards if coverage is needed
• Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8.5 Hour Shifts with 30 Minute Lunches
• May start at 6 a.m., or at 6:30 a.m., or at 7 a.m. as approved by Supervisor
• Full On-Site work and flex to cover needs at either Butterworth or Blodgett Pharmacies
• No Weekends
• No Holidays
• This position will split locations between Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals
• This is a Part Time Position offering Full Benefits
