Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain inventory, place orders. Check in drugs, stock shelves, remove out of date product
  • Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments.
  • Maintain packaging equipment for calibration.
  • Timely and accurately fill resident medication orders in accordance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Properly prepare orders for final delivery.
  • Complies with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Effectively and harmoniously interacts with facilities, physicians, and other pharmacy employees at all levels; promoting teamwork and demonstrating strong leadership skills and professionalism.
  • Prepares various reports as requested by management, customers and residents.
  • Schedule may include weekend and/or nights

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current State Pharmacy Technician license and certification.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • 1-3 years Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Medical Terminology required.
  • Order Entry and insurance billing experience preferred.
  • IV experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Good human relation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Patience, tact, enthusiasm, positive attitude and professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Problem Solving Skills and Critical Thinking Skills.
