Maintains competence required for current position and has ability to perform all technician duties to assist in training of new employees and students. Department PHARMACY - 207070 Worker Sub Type Per Diem Work Shift Pay Grade Job Description Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist the Level I Pharmacy Technician accurately prepares and labels medications, fills automated dispensing devices, squad boxes, code trays and replaces floorstock. The Level I Pharmacy Technicians fills and exchanges patient-specific medication supplies, monitoring for returned and discontinued medications, as well as restocking storage bins and facilitating requests for re-ordering drugs and supplies. Working directly within the Pharmacy Department, this position is responsible for preparing prescriptions for shipment, triaging incoming calls from both patients and providers, and providing superior service to patients. This position is responsible for ensuring that prescriptions are accurately and efficiently. WHAT YOU’LL DO Enter prescription information into system to be verified by the Pharmacist Assist in prescription preparation including selection of correct medication, accurately counting, bottling, and labeling prescriptions in preparation for shipment. Prepare and consolidate patient prescriptions for shipment. Assist in inventory activities including replenishment of pharmacy stock and supplies. Ensure the pharmacy is clean and organized and filling stations are restocked throughout the day. Provide superior patient service including triaging incoming phone calls, confirming prescription accuracy, setting appropriate expectations, and following through on service commitments.
