Type, print, or generate labels from the computer. Maintain records which are related to the practice of pharmacy. Must understand pharmacy law pertaining to technician duties requiring that a technician may not enter or be in the pharmacy if a licensed pharmacist is not also present, perform any act within the practice of pharmacy that involves discretion or independent professional judgment; or perform a duty until the technician has been trained and the duty has been specified in orientation or policy. Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt and removing outdated drugs. Correctly measure drug doses using syringes or graduates. Accurately account for money transactions when opening, running, and closing the register. Answers phone call with a thorough understanding when to defer clinical questions to a pharmacist, including transcribing or transfers of prescriptions.

Qualified candidates will be eligible for up to a $4,000 sign-on bonus, must have 2 years experience. (*Current AHC employees not eligible - see below under additional details.) We're seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Pharmacy Technician II you will: Perform drug distribution, medication preparation, compounding, dose calculation, and quality Performs sterile compounding according to USP 797 and 800 including electronic documentation Maintains accurate inventory of medications and supplies by performing inventory management cycle counts; performs patient care unit inspections with electronic documentation Prepares and delivers medication to patient care units; restocks automated dispensing units Assesses need for and prepares prepackaged oral solid, and liquid medications for dispensing Performs Medication History assessments Additional duties as assigned Qualified candidates will possess: High school diploma or GED/equivalent required. Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy required. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required. At least 2 years work experience in a pharmacy specifically using aseptic technique compliant with USP 797 and 800; working knowledge of USP 795 required. Graduation from an ASHP accredited or PTCB recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred. Previous experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels preferred Work Schedule: 8 hour shifts - Two times a week- then Three times next week Rotating shifts Evening, Nights and Weekends. Current AHC employees are not eligible for a sign-on bonus who are transferring from one entity to another and/or transferring within their entity. Position Overview

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team. As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support the preparation and dispensing of medications, maintain inventory, and provide excellent customer service. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their pharmacy career and looking to gain hands-on experience in an inpatient pharmacy setting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Functions as a generalist, providing support and ensures an ongoing and efficient pharmacy department by assisting in the processing of medications or prescriptions to all patients and appropriate patient care areas
  •  Assists in the maintenance of a neat and clean dispensing area and performing functions as necessary in the daily routine of the pharmacy department
  • Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications
  • Enter patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system accurately
  • Label and package medications under pharmacist supervision
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment

Position Qualifications

Minimum Required:

  • Minimum Required:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Board (PTCB) within eighteen (18) months of employment
  • Preferred:
    • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or successful completion of a pharmacy technician training program
