About the Role: As a Lead Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for the completion of the daily tasks and next day preparation by team members. Additionally, as Lead Technician you will assist in the further development and implementation of daily/ overnight weekend workflow documents. You will report to the lab manager and compounding pharmacist. This is an opportunity to assist in the seamless transitions from day to day and weekend to week day operations ensuring the uninterrupted flow of production in the labs. You Will: Create a daily workflow plan for the technician team ensuring that daily, weekly and monthly tasks are being completed Develop a daily, weekly and monthly pharmacy technician task sheet as well as a downtime task sheet Delegate tasks and workflow items when necessary Lead team effort by accomplishing daily, weekly production tasks Train additional pharmacy technicians on the role and responsibilities that are unique to alternative shift technicians Work closely with R&D while performing scale-ups with any new liquid tableting formulas. Know how to troubleshoot any tablet press and help train new technicians. Organize and restock work areas during and prior to end of shift, cycle count and remove expired medication. Interview applicants for pharmacy technician positions Practice all state and federal pharmacy regulations for the ordering, handling, and management of prescriptions and/or prescription drug products Maintain all security and privacy rules regarding the use and handling of protected health information (PHI) in compliance with federal and state HIPAA regulations Update and maintain patient profile records as necessary according to state pharmacy regulations Review weekly pharmacy huddle updates for new information Drive quality efforts by adhering to standard operating procedures Follow all state and pharmacy regulations and rules as designated by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Maintain a clean and safe work environment as mandated by USP 797 and USP 800 Transition compounded medications through various states of workflow Protect patients and employees by adhering to strict infection-control and cross-contamination policies and protocols. About the Role:

As a Lead Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for the completion of the daily tasks and next day preparation by team members. Additionally, as Lead Technician you will assist in the further development and implementation of daily/ overnight weekend workflow documents. You will report to the lab manager and compounding pharmacist. This is an opportunity to assist in the seamless transitions from day to day and weekend to week day operations ensuring the uninterrupted flow of production in the labs.

You Will:

  • Create a daily workflow plan for the technician team ensuring that daily, weekly and monthly tasks are being completed  

  • Develop a daily, weekly and monthly pharmacy technician task sheet as well as a downtime task sheet  

  • Delegate tasks and workflow items when necessary  

  • Lead team effort by accomplishing daily, weekly production tasks  

  • Train additional pharmacy technicians on the role and responsibilities that are unique to alternative shift technicians  

  • Work closely with R&D while performing scale-ups with any new liquid tableting formulas.  

  • Know how to troubleshoot any tablet press and help train new technicians. 

  • Organize and restock work areas during and prior to end of shift, cycle count and remove expired medication.  

  • Interview applicants for pharmacy technician positions  

  • Practice all state and federal pharmacy regulations for the ordering, handling, and management of prescriptions and/or prescription drug products  

  • Maintain all security and privacy rules regarding the use and handling of protected health information (PHI) in compliance with federal and state HIPAA regulations 

  • Update and maintain patient profile records as necessary according to state pharmacy regulations  

  • Review weekly pharmacy huddle updates for new information  

  • Drive quality efforts by adhering to standard operating procedures  

  • Follow all state and pharmacy regulations and rules as designated by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)  

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment as mandated by USP 797 and USP 800

  • Transition compounded medications through various states of workflow 

  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to strict infection-control and cross-contamination policies and protocols.

You Have:

  • 4+ years as a compounding pharmacy technician with lead experience 

  • Active Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy

  • Effective knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy  

  • Ability to work flexible shift times within alternative schedule demand
