Scope of Work
- Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
- Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
- Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
- Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Corewell Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Associate's Degree
- Hospital experience Preferred
- LIC-Pharmacist Intern- STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp- STATE_MI State of Michigan Must obtain full licensure w/in 90 days of hire. Upon Hire required And
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician- STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
- CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes- LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required Or
- CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes- LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
Ideal candidate will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and/or National Certification, such as PTCB or ExCPT
Inpatient or IV experience would be a strong plus
