Job Summary:

This position works in our medication management clinic - office setting helping with appointments, lab work reminders, follow medications from outside pharmacies, etc.

The technician, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with all state and federal laws, assist with the selection, procurement, storage, preparation, record keeping, and financial reconciliation, and dispensing of all medications dispensed to outpatients through Medical Village Pharmacy. Monitor the inventory and ordering process. Job Description:

  • Answer phone in timely and courteous manner while complying with HIPPA.
  • Immediately greet customers in a warm and friendly manner as they enter the pharmacy and assist with their needs.
  • Solve issues that arise in a timely manner; documenting all relevant information on the patient's record.
  • Assures stock is in date by overseeing expiration date checking of assigned area as well as clean/organize pharmacy following the 5 "S's". (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)

Understand and can complete orders from wholesaler, including placing order, receiving order, checking in the order, accounting for variance of items ordered and items received, and putting on shelves using "First In, First Out" method and sound accounting principles.
  • Understand unique programs offered and assist with prescription filling. These include Discharge Medication Delivery Service, Meds to Beds, Social Service prescriptions and other services such as immunizations.
  • Successfully receive, order and dispense offsite business partners' medication requests. Understand the process used for each business (MD Scripts, Packedge, and or Microsoft Excel Labels.)
