What you will do Assist pharmacists in preparing medications for hospice patients and processing admissions, transfers, and discharges. Manage phone inquiries, enters charge, and notifies pharmacist as needed. Select, prepare, and label medications for dispensing; prepare FedEx labels for shipments. Return unused medication bottles post-preparation and gather medications for automated dispensing machines. Maintain inventory levels, communicate ordering needs, and restock supplies while removing outdated items. Support equipment maintenance and ensures a clean, sanitized work environment. Collaborate with pharmacy team members and hospice partners and assist in training new staff as needed. What we look for High School Diploma or equivalent required; Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred Pharmacy Technician license in the state, if applicable Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician required Hospice and palliative care experience preferred Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment Strong typing, computer, verbal, and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities Familiarity with Framework LTC dispensing software and pharmacy automation preferred Why Pharmacy Technicians are important Our Pharmacy Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the right medications safely and efficiently. Compensation range: $17-18/hr Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Fulfillment Assistant is responsible for the filling and packaging of prescriptions in an accurate and timely manner for delivery to our customers. Apply labels to medication packaging, scan and assemble into appropriate bins in an accurate and timely manner. Alert pharmacist on duty of any medication that is not scanning properly. Participate in training and development activities to gain proficiency in other Fulfillment workflow areas. Communicate inventory needs to ensure adequate supply of medication available to complete all orders. Assist in maintaining inventory at appropriate levels, including removing expired or unused meds, marking used bottles and keeping inventory neat and arranged in-order. May assist in physical inventory. Consistently meet pharmacy's established accuracy and productivity levels. Work collaboratively with other supervisors/functional areas to keep work flowing smoothly and efficiently. Maintain clean and orderly workstation. Put medications away and replenish all stock supplies needed. Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the dispensing of prescription medications.
