Handle post-event cleanup, including dismantling setups, disposing of waste, and restoring areas to their original condition. Collaborate with other zoo staff to ensure cleaning efforts align with conservation and sustainability goals. Follow all health and safety protocols, including the proper handling of cleaning supplies and equipment. Provide courteous assistance to visitors when needed, contributing to a positive guest experience. Qualifications Skills: Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to properly operate and maintain custodial equipment. Ability to interact professionally with both staff and visitors. Ability to prepare inventory usage reports, daily time sheets etc. Ability to perform non housekeeping tasks requiring unskilled or semi-skill levels. Education/ Experience: Must be at least 18 years old. Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. Must have a valid driver’s license. Prior janitorial, custodial and/or general housekeeping experience is a plus. Physical Responsibilities: Working conditions may involve being outside. Must be able to work outside year-round in inclement weather such as extreme high/low temperatures, snow and rain conditions. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified. Bilingual a plus Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
