St. Michael Poplar Springs Parish, located on St Michaels Road in Mount Airy Maryland has a part-time opening for a Custodial Assistant. The Custodial Assistant helps to perform routine custodial duties for the parish buildings and property. This position is scheduled for Weekends only, 8am to 1pm; 8-10 weekly hours and non-benefit eligible. Position reports to the Facilities Manager. Essential Functions Cleans Church, parish office, community spaces, and mission buildings. Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors as needed. Washes windows, removes dust and debris as needed. Removes trash from inside the buildings and from the grounds. Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters and bulbs. Position Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid Maryland driver's license with no more than 3 points. Previous cleaning experience is preferred. Knowledge of safety standards for use of cleaning equipment and products preferred. Job Summary The Overnight Custodian will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, fitness equipment and gym floor. Stock locker rooms with proper supplies/paper products. Report any broken or missing amenities or equipment (Toilets, faucets, showers, hair dryers, gym equipment etc.) to the Club Manager. Follow “Lost and Found Policy” and turn in lost member property to the Club Manager/Assistant Club Manager immediately. Qualifications/Requirements Custodial experience is preferred. Punctuality and reliability is a must. Ability to work third shift is a must. Honesty and exceptional work ethic. Ability to solve problems independently. Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language. High School diploma/GED equivalent required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Knowledge of practices, equipment, and methods used in large-scale food production.
