This position will be responsible for the daily cleanliness of entire area as well as any daily or weekly special cleaning projects on a regular basis. What will you do? The Custodian will maintain facility standards and assist in general cleaning. Duties included sweeping floors, detail cleaning, cleaning spills, shampooing, dumping garbage, upkeep of restrooms during events and general maintenance of public areas. Will be able to handle facility equipment of different size and weights. Will receive deliveries and perform additional duties as assigned. Candidate will ensure that MSG standards are always met and exceeded. What do you need to succeed? The ideal candidate will have custodial experience at an entertainment venue or large commercial property. Must be proficient at utilizing necessary equipment and safety requirements for said equipment. A high level of energy and commitment with strong attention to detail and organizational skills Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks at a time Must possess the ability to work with various operating groups Special Requirements Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment This position includes heavy lifting of upwards of 70 lbs. Job Summary
The Custodian / Cleaner will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, fitness equipment and gym floor.
- Stock locker rooms with proper supplies/paper products.
- Properly dispose of trash and maintain the trash cans.
- Clean/dust items high off the ground (i.e., ceiling fans, TVs, rafters)
- Report any broken or missing amenities or equipment (Toilets, faucets, showers, hair dryers, gym equipment etc.) to the Club Manager.
- Follow "Lost and Found Policy" and turn in lost member property to the Club Manager/Assistant Club Manager immediately.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Custodial experience is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Punctuality and reliability is a must.
- Honesty and exceptional work ethic.
- Ability to solve problems independently.
- Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
- High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred.
Physical Demands
- Continual standing and walking during shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
- Will encounter toxic chemicals.
- Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
- Moving self in different positions, including bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and twisting, to accomplish tasks.
