Job Summary The Custodian / Cleaner will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, fitness equipment and gym floor. Stock locker rooms with proper supplies/paper products. Properly dispose of trash and maintain the trash cans. Clean/dust items high off the ground (i.e., ceiling fans, TVs, rafters) Report any broken or missing amenities or equipment (Toilets, faucets, showers, hair dryers, gym equipment etc.) to the Club Manager. Follow “Lost and Found Policy” and turn in lost member property to the Club Manager/Assistant Club Manager immediately. Qualifications/Requirements Custodial experience is preferred. Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language. High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift. Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds. Will encounter toxic chemicals. Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities. Perform daily grounds and building inspection. Inform Custodial Supervisor of any issues. Perform cleaning of restrooms to ensure health and safety standards are upheld. Follow Universal Precautions and sanitation procedures when handling cleanup of bodily fluids. Unclog plumbing and waste traps as needed. Monitor inventory levels of custodial supplies Receive, unpack, store and deliver instructional and custodial supplies to appropriate staff member or storage area. Assist with staff or outside groups using the building for programs, special events or assemblies. Perform set up and tear down of tables, chairs, and audiovisual equipment; assist with training users on equipment as needed; and troubleshoot equipment problems. Responsibilities Perform janitorial duties Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule Operate motorized cleaning equipment Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures Stop at risk behavior of others and self Perform work assignments in a team with other employees Perform repetitive tasks Maintain clean work area Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules Take direction and respond to supervision Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner Fill in during staff shortage Support shift lead in completing punch-list items Use proper personal protective equipment Present a professional appearance and conduct Understand customer service and satisfaction Understand reporting systems, and of the environment Qualifications May be required to have a valid driver's license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified. Bilingual a plus Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
