Move and clean furnishings and fixtures, including but not limited to dusting, spot cleaning, and washing. Disinfect when necessary and polish when required. Clean offices, dining rooms, break rooms, laundry rooms, resident rooms, resident apartments, storage rooms, halls, stairways, entrances and exits. Empty, clean, and reline wastebaskets. Perform cleaning duties in isolation units. Perform emergency housekeeping when accidents occur, including but not limited to bodily fluid clean up. Straighten or rearrange furniture as directed. Remove for cleaning and re-hang when clean, curtains, drapes, or dividers. Qualification: A desire to make a difference! Willingness to grow! High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Custodians are responsible for maintaining multisensory excellence standards for all LU facilities, on and off campus, by way of cleaning and sanitizing interior spaces. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The standard custodial work shift hours are as follows: 1st shift: 6:30a-3pm 2nd Shift: 3pm-1:30am (10-hour shift @ 4 days a week) includes additional pay differential. 3rd Shift: 10:30pm-7am includes additional pay differential. Reports to work at the required time and performs duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor. WORKING CONDITIONS Work Environment The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled, interior setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. All waste and recyclable material must be removed from the facilities and carried to exterior waste receptacles throughout the day, regardless of weather conditions. On occasion, employees must be able and willing to work in exterior, non-climate-controlled settings, on occasion, such as athletic/special events and special projects. Employees routinely clean demolition and construction areas. These areas are often very dusty and not climate controlled.   • Follow “Lost and Found Policy” and turn in lost member property to the Club Manager/Assistant Club Manager immediately.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Custodial experience is preferred.
  • Punctuality and reliability is a must.
  • Ability to work third shift is a must.
  • Honesty and exceptional work ethic.
  • Ability to solve problems independently.
  • Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
  • High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands

  • Continual standing and walking during shift.
  • Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling and crouching during shift.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
  • Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.
