Working Hours 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM during the school session 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Thursday during the summer and school breaks.  Hours vary and are dependent on business needs. Compensation : $18.78 to $23.48/hour (DOE)  Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities Cleaning and Sanitation Execute comprehensive cleaning tasks, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sealing, buffing, and washing of classrooms and restrooms. Efficiently gather and dispose of waste materials. Perform steam-cleaning or shampooing of carpets. Dust furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment to maintain cleanliness. Grounds Maintenance Undertake grounds maintenance activities, including sweeping and trash removal. Clear debris from outdoor areas. Remove snow and ice to ensure safe access. Building Maintenance and Security Conduct thorough building inspections to ensure security and safety. Communicate with management regarding necessary major repairs or enhancements to building systems. Adhere to established protocols for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.  Event Setup and Logistics Manage the relocation and storage of furniture and equipment. Arrange and dismantle decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events. Procure necessary supplies or equipment for cleaning and maintenance tasks. Assist with other duties as assigned.  Education and Experience Needed to be Successful High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 + years of experience cleaning buildings and/or maintaining grounds is preferred.     Specialized Skills Basic expertise in the use of cleaning materials and equipment. Intermediate proficiency in the English language, enabling comprehension of operating instructions for cleaning equipment, material handling, and adherence to safety and accident prevention guidelines. Basic verbal and written communication abilities to engage positively and professionally with students, administrators, colleagues, parents, and community members. Intermediate competence in safety precautions including properly operating and cleaning machinery, ascending and descending ladders and stairs, etc.   Basic ability to actively engage in professional development and training sessions. Basic ability to swiftly learn and implement effective cleaning methodologies and acquire advanced skills in the operation of facility-specific cleaning machines. About the Role: As a J&J Cleaning Sr. Coordinator, you will be responsible for advanced cleaning duties. This includes mopping, sweeping, and trash disposal. This job is part of the Cleaning Services function. They are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of client and company buildings. What You’ll Do: Provide daily cleaning support to areas of the building, including executive offices. Stock bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, and soap. Attend all regular staff meetings and required in-service training sessions. Recognize and solve typical and atypical problems that can occur in own work area without supervisory approval. CUSTODIAN/HOUSEKEEPER III VSCSF Bargaining Unit Non-Exempt Grade 6 BASIC FUNCTION Clean and perform routine housekeeping and maintenance of campus buildings, including residence halls, classrooms, and administrative offices. Job Summary: Responsible for meeting customer needs by meeting daily job or work schedule: Thoroughly cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking supplies to all restrooms. Ordering all necessary supplies for bathrooms and break rooms. Maintaining clean lunchrooms including microwaves, water cooler, etc. Cleaning the Shop Locker Rooms, including sinks and floors. Checking, filling, ordering and restocking the first-aid kits in the facility on a monthly basis or as needed. Maintain clean and orderly corridors, hallways, and other work areas. Empty wastebaskets and haul trash to dumpster. Clean floors in production area using floor sweeper. Other duties as assigned Tools Used: Industrial cleaners, motorized floor cleaning equipment, mops, etc. Safety Equipment: Safety glasses, safety shoes with metatarsal guards, ear plugs, blood borne pathogen cleanup kit etc. Environment: Office areas and production floor is a heavy industrial atmosphere including exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards, grease, oil, dusts, dirt, heat, humidity, fumes/odors/mists, sparks, heights, occasionally cramped quarters, and awkward positions Job Requirements: Ability to manually move materials up to 50 lbs. through regular moderate physical exertion, including but not limited to lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and bending. Ability to work in a variety of positions including but not limited to standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, and turning. Most of the work is completed on concrete surfaces. Must operate motorized floor sweeper and pass our forklift training. Ability to accurately read and follow label directions for cleaners used. Ability to work independently at a reasonable pace and within our quality standards to ensure timely completion of responsibilities without retraining. Must work overtime as required to meet internal customer needs. Must be a team player working with co-workers, other departments and/or other TBEI facilities. The focus is on meeting company goals and initiatives. Ability to learn operations within a job area and must be able to regularly rotate jobs to meet job schedule, team needs or to meet any safety recommendations. Must work at a reasonable pace (measured by production efficiency) and within our quality standards to insure timely completion of tasks and must work overtime as required to meet customer needs. Must work in a safe manner following safety procedures, including: wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), completing maintenance requests and communicating hazards to co-workers and management. Completing and complying with annual Hazardous Waste Management Training for waste management, storage, transport and record keeping Additional Job Information: Wage Expectations: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour based on skills and experience. Pay: This is a non-exempt, hourly position and employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis Typical Schedule: Four (4) Ten (10) hour days M-F, Overtime may be available on your 5th day of the week and/or Saturdays.
