About This Role: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, managing materials within the ERP system, overseeing finished goods inventories, and conducting annual physical inventories. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth production operations by providing timely access to necessary materials and maintaining inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment and is proficient with MRP systems. This is a full-time position. What You'll Be Working On: Inventory Transaction Management: Transacting the movement of inventory for multiple projects, ensuring proper documentation (i.e., material requisition) is completed and procedures are followed before and after any inventory movement. Managing transactions within the WMS/ERP to match the physical movement of goods. Identifying discrepancies and performing root cause analysis. Inventory Control and Accuracy: Conducting cycle counts to control inventory accuracy and minimize variances. Performing monthly cycle counts of material. Ensuring adequate inventory of materials and products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy. Double-checking the Bill of Materials for projects taken to production to ensure all parts are present. Production Floor Support: Running parts to the production floor. Issuing parts to jobs per specifications. Kitting jobs for production. Unboxing all parts and grouping like materials on the job cart together. Pulling sheet metal for the CNC operators to speed up production times. ERP System Management: Using the ERP system to accurately track materials. Inventory Planning and Management: Assisting in planning the full inventory annually. Assisting with managing and disposing of surplus materials and scrap. Warehouse Assistance: Providing assistance to the warehouse where needed, including receiving, unloading trucks, cleaning, and picking up the lot. Description: The Physical Inventory Lead helps keep inventory accurate and ensures inventory processes follow company policies. This role includes performing physical inventory counts and auditing procedures to find and fix any issues. The specialist also looks for ways to improve inventory operations by identifying problems and helping to solve them. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Returns & Reconciliation Operations: Oversee route reconciliation from prior day's deliveries, using POD and exception reporting. Check in all product returns and ensure proper handling per SOPs (wrapping, condition reports, etc.). Manage Return Authorizations (RAs), including creating them or contacting Customer Service when needed. Log and track RAs in the daily TRL, maintain accurate Return Placards, and update the Returns Manifest. Coordinate return trailer schedules with the Transportation team. Work with inventory team to ensure timely invoicing for exchanges and cancellation processing in Storis. Review and process markouts. Oversee piece disposition, including submission of destruction documentation and photos. Conduct dock searches as requested and ensure timely completion. Partner with claims administration to resolve missing product claims efficiently. Physical Inventory & Audit Execution (Retail & 3PL): Conduct scheduled and cycle physical inventories across both retail store and 3PL hub locations (in-person and remote). Use RF scanners, tablets, ERP systems, and delivery portals to validate and document counts. Identify and report inventory discrepancies, shrinkage, and damages; support root cause investigations. Collaborate with store teams and 3PL partners to ensure accurate prep, execution, and reconciliation of inventories. Maintain and continuously improve SOPs related to physical inventory prep, execution, and reconciliation. Follow compliance requirements (e.g., SOX documentation) and safety standards during all inventory activities. Support internal audit requests and contribute to operational process improvements. Maintain organized, accurate records of audits, variances, adjustments, and reconciliation data. Travel to local and regional stores and 3PL locations as needed. Requirements: Education: High school diploma; College degree preferred Years of experience: 1 year of inventory-related Warehouse/Delivery experience. Loss prevention experience is a plus. Valid Driver's license required Position requires 40-50% travel. Computer proficiency: Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and experience in WMS or Delivery software.
