Job Description
Vivo HealthStaff is recruiting LPCC?LCSW/MFT/Psychologists for Correctional Mental Health positions.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate mental health professional (Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Psychologist) to join our correctional facility's mental health team. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services to incarcerated individuals within our correctional setting. Your expertise and dedication will play a crucial role in promoting the psychological well-being of inmates and contributing to their successful rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
Responsibilities:
1. Mental Health Assessment: Conduct thorough and accurate mental health assessments for inmates upon entry into the correctional facility, identifying any pre-existing mental health conditions, emotional concerns, and treatment needs.
2. Individual Therapy: Provide individual counseling and psychotherapy to inmates, offering support and evidence-based interventions to address a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse.
3. Group Therapy: Lead therapeutic group sessions to address specific mental health themes and facilitate discussions that encourage positive behavior change, conflict resolution, and emotional growth among inmates.
4. Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to respond to crisis situations promptly, conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate intervention strategies to ensure the safety of both inmates and staff.
5. Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatment plans that are tailored to each inmate's unique needs and circumstances.
6. Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate and document the progress of inmates in therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
7. Discharge Planning: Work with inmates nearing release to create effective discharge plans that include access to community-based mental health resources and support systems.
8. Collaborative Care: Coordinate with medical and correctional staff to ensure a holistic approach to inmate care, addressing both mental health and physical health concerns.
9. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all clinical interventions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
10. Professional Development: Stay informed about current trends and advancements in the field of correctional mental health, attending relevant training and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Valid and active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), or Psychologist.- Experience working in a correctional or secure mental health setting is highly preferred.- Expertise in conducting mental health assessments and providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.- Strong understanding of mental health disorders, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention techniques.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse population of inmates and staff.- Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in a correctional environment.- Willingness to work within the policies and procedures of the correctional facility while upholding ethical standards of practice.
