AAA has high expectations for the tutors that are hired. It is their responsibility to maintain a GPA above a 3.0 while working with the student-athletes. Tutors must display a strong academic commitment, be highly motivated, and willing to be open-minded and compassionate towards student athletes. It is also the duty of any staff member within the department to present materials in a good ethical manner. As a tutor, it is important to encourage academic success consistently throughout each semester.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Tutors are also responsible for monitoring student-athletes while signed into Academic Enhancement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, checking student-athletes into the facility via Teamworks, ensuring that student-athletes are following the established rules of Academic Enhancement, and confirming that student-athletes are working on academics throughout their study session (this includes those that are working independently). Our goal is that the LAC is a productive atmosphere to allow for maximal engagement with our tutorial staff and be an efficient learning space.
