Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Position Summary: The student navigator is a registered nurse who provides academic support and resources to facilitate student success in the associates degree and practical nurse certificate programs at Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing (SAM SON) and St. Peter's Hospital College of Nursing (SPH CON). To assist students to realize their goal of becoming a nurse, the student navigator will offer support as they clarify, review, and learn concepts taught in their classes and clinical experiences. This position serves as a liaison between the nursing faculty, support staff, and the students. To support the instructional process, the student navigator will meet with course chairs to review salient information from class lecture, lab, or clinical experiences. Education Requirements: Education: A master's degree in nursing is the minimum requirement. Preference for experience tutoring pre-licensure nursing students. Experience Requirements: Must possess mastery of subject matter knowledge of the pre-licensure nursing discipline. Tutoring or teaching experience preferred. Must be able to explain and demonstrate that knowledge to students. Knowledge of current, effective teaching techniques with the ability to adapt to a variety of learning styles. Experience with populations of diverse backgrounds, underserved populations, and at-risk populations. Experience with student information systems and learning management systems preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and the ability to analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of student learning. Excellent verbal and written skills communication skills. Requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work both independently and as part of a faculty team. Must be a self-starter, self-directed, and a problem solver. Pay Range: $34.05-$51.10hr Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location. What You'll Do Teach math to students in grades K/TK -12, using the Mathnasium Method Work with students in a low-stress, supportive environment Provide individualized instruction using a proven curriculum Help students build confidence and improve their problem-solving skills Track progress and provide positive reinforcement What We're Looking For Strong math skills through Pre-Calculus or higher (Calculus a plus!) What You'll Do As a Math Tutor, you'll create a fun, engaging learning environment, working with up to 4 students at a time in our after school tutoring program. Your responsibilities include: Delivering personalized math instruction (Kindergarten through Pre-Algebra, with opportunities for Algebra Tutor, Geometry Tutor, or Calculus Tutor roles) using Mathnasium's Socratic teaching method and interactive tools. Motivating students with real-world math applications and practice exercises to build confidence. Tracking and documenting progress to ensure personalized learning outcomes. Collaborating with the Center Director to meet student needs in a team-teaching model. Supporting tasks like curriculum prep or keeping the workspace tidy. What We Need Math Proficiency: Strong skills through Algebra I; Geometry or Calculus knowledge preferred for test prep tutoring (SAT/ACT). Availability: At least 2 weekday afternoon shifts, 3-4 hours each, for after school tutoring. Passion for Teaching: Enthusiastic, clear communicator who loves to work with students of diverse learning styles. Background Check: Must pass state and national background checks.
