SUNY Ulster is seeking a part-time tutor to work one-on-one with students in the Literacy Lab to bridge gaps in comprehension and writing.  The tutor will assist and encourage students throughout the learning processes, reviewing materials used in classes, explaining various topics, and addressing any questions regarding the topics covered in class.  This is a part-time position consisting of no more than 17.5 hours per week.  The hours will be agreed upon by both the supervisor and employee at the onset of employment and are subject to change based on enrollment in courses.    Key Responsibilities: Conduct tutoring sessions outside of the class each week. Communicate frequently with instructors and provide them with updates regarding the students’ progress and feedback regarding the tutoring sessions. Tutor students in specific course material and integrate study and learning strategies to promote independent learning. Use designated SUNY Ulster employee email address as primary method of communication and check that email once a day. Complete and submit paperwork (Daily Logs, Time Sheets, etc.) in a timely manner.
