Unlike other learning centers and tutoring services, our entire teaching philosophy revolves around teaching math in a way that makes sense to students. We find where a student is at in terms of their math abilities, and build them up from there. We are a growing organization and are looking for instructors to join our team at our Raleigh Hills location. If you're a college student or a recent graduate, this would be an ideal position, but we will consider all backgrounds. We teach in a study hall-type environment with students of all ages, but most of our students are in the K-8th grade range. Therefore, we are looking for future instructors who have solid math skills AND strong communication skills. We help our students solve their own problems, not just tell them what to do. (We are not a private tutoring facility, and we do not teach online!) In addition to math knowledge and communication skills, the other quality we are looking for is coachability. We operate in a unique environment and we utilize a specific teaching methodology that has been time-tested, and bottom line, it works. Therefore, being able to take instruction and be open-minded is paramount. If you believe you have these qualities, please do apply! We serve our students year-round, so this is an opportunity for regular work. Ideally, you would be available at least 3-4 days out of the 6 days that we are open, but we are flexible! The responsibility of the Professional STEM Tutor is to assist students with math, statistics, computer science, chemistry, or other STEM-related subjects. Professional STEM Tutors work in both our drop-in program (where they work both individually and in small groups with students) and in our one-on-one by appointment program. Professional STEM Tutors will also lead larger, scheduled, group tutoring sessions, as needed. Professional STEM tutors should at the least be well versed in mathematics (from arithmetic to calculus) and statistics. Ability to tutor science or computer science subjects may vary depending on the tutor's background and disciplinary expertise. Responsibility Tutor students who request STEM assistance: individual to small group sessions in math/stats drop-in, one-on-one appointments in STEM disciplines. Tutoring may be online or in the center. Tutors will write notes in our tutor management system for individual appointments. During open appointment blocks, perform various academic support tasks according to tutor's skills and interests as assigned by CLAS management. Attend training on specific topics related to assisting college students with STEM subjects, assisting students of concern, etc. Training may be in person or online. Meet with program supervisors to discuss other issues. Facilitate large group tutoring sessions or exam review sessions. Write notes for all tutoring sessions in appointment tracking system (EAB Navigate). The instructor must be available to work a minimum of 2 weekdays, preferably 3-4 weekdays, Monday-Thursday with a starting time between 2:30 pm- 3:30 pm. Shifts end between 5:30pm- 7:30pm. We are looking for a compassionate special education teacher with experience teaching students with special needs. The ideal candidate will be patient, innovative, and organized. To be successful as a special education teacher you should be committed to helping students, offering support to overcome practical obstacles to their learning. Special Education Teacher Responsibilities: Facilitating lessons in a manner that will be effective despite a student's disability. Providing support for students both academically and personally where necessary. Respecting students and treating them with dignity in the learning environment. Math Instructor/Tutor for Higher Math (part-time) - Katy, TX We are looking for passionate, friendly, and enthusiastic people who enjoy helping kids. We will teach you everything else you need to know! We are currently looking for energetic and passionate Math Instructors who have a strong math background and be able to work with HS students. Must be able to teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and AP-Calculus. Being able to teach SAT/ACT prep courses, and Calculus is a plus. Must have strong communication skills and love to work with children. At this time, we are looking for High School Math Instructors only. (Algebra I to Pre-Calculus) Qualifications and Skills Teaching experience and Teaching certificates are preferred but not required. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or math-related subjects is preferred. ( But we also welcome college students as long as they pass the Math competency test.)
