The Genomics Team within R&D Discovery and Technology Futures Team is looking for an energetic and innovative Senior Scientist with deep expertise in genomics and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to drive biomarker discovery projects. Extract and QC nucleic acids from a variety of samples for NGS and dPCR (e.g. clinical tissues, liquid biopsy, and cell models). Work collaboratively within the Genomics team to convert biomarkers into molecular assays and across cross-functional R&D teams to support larger multi-omics objectives. Perform data quality control and troubleshooting, maintain accurate documentation, and continually improve lab infrastructure and workflows. Maintain a world-class molecular lab alongside other wet lab scientists. What you need to succeed: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genomics, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience working with and developing protocols for a wide variety of sample types, such as fresh-frozen and FFPE tissues and blood/plasma/serum. Hands-on experience with and demonstrated understanding of Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencers and instruments that quantify and quality control nucleic acids (e.g. tapestation, qubit, nanodrop). Hands-on experience with and demonstrated understanding of at least two of the following NGS strategies: whole genome, whole exome, transcriptome, amplicon/targeted, and methylome sequencing. Hands-on experience with bioinformatic tools to process and analyze sequencing data. Experience with a broad range of molecular biology and analytical techniques. Detail-oriented and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and interpret results. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to take initiative and be accountable.
