Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Shift: Night Shift, 12-Hour

The ICU RN provides direct, high-quality care to critically ill adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Utilizes the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to monitor hemodynamics, respond to changes in condition, and implement evidence-based interventions. Collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team, guides patient and family education, and ensures ICU standards of care, patient safety, and confidentiality are consistently maintained.

• Provide direct ICU patient care and monitor condition.
• Apply the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate.
• Respond to changes in vital signs, hemodynamics, and patient condition.
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare teams.
• Educate patients and families on treatments and care plans.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and maintain ICU standards.
• Maintain documentation, privacy, and HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to emergencies and rapid condition changes.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. Current and valid state RN License. • 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current. • 3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. • 4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire. • 5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. • 6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred. • 7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. • 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
