Job Description
Regional Manager, Maine
Basics:
- Full-Time, exempt
- Based: Portland Transportation Center, Portland, ME
- Monday – Friday, on site. Frequent regional travel within Maine and NH.
- Reports to: Keith Skorupski, Director of Corporate Operations
Qualifications:
- 4year College Degree required; business focus preferred
- Handson, operational management experience required. Hospitality, transportation or like industry experience a plus
- Superior leadership and communications skills
- Computer proficiency is a must with the ability to learn industry specific platforms. Working knowledge of Excel and AI tools.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- To foster a supportive and proactive environment for staff. Work closely through and alongside department heads to manage staffing needs, recruitment, training, retention and management of all personnel in Maine.*
- Responsible for training, management, consistent discipline and accountability and recognition of all Maine staff in consultation with relevant managers and department heads in Concord.
- To ensure superior customer experience through execution of details.*
- The strength of our service is simple things done well. That is to say clean and well-maintained facilities and equipment, trips that leave on time, and staff that is friendly and helpful. An eye for detail is a must.
- While P&L management experience is a plus, and innovation of all kinds is welcome; overseeing day-to-day consistency in service execution is the primary objective of this position and will define a successful candidate.
- Work closely with Concord operations and local staff to ensure optimized schedules, and ensure all work is covered.
- Oversee all capital maintenance planning/projects in Maine and day-to-day operational expenses and facilitate repair work. Coordinate with vendors and staff.
- Analyze workflows to determine areas of opportunity to streamline operations and improve efficiencies
- Work closely with Marketing to promote services in Maine.
- Address elevated customer complaints to resolution.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions with VP level staff across company.
- Oversee the day-to-day functioning of all CCL operations in ME.*
- Bangor Terminal, and Driver Layover Facility (House and Service Bay)
- Augusta Terminal
- Portland (shared Passenger Terminal and Maintenance Facility)
- Coastal Agencies* *
- Third party agencies
- Oversight of terminal staff to include:*
- Terminal Managers
- Ticket Agents
- Cleaning and Janitorial Staff
- Grounds’ Staff
- Mechanics
- Bus Servicing Staff
- Dock Help
- Work closely with Concord Coach Lines department heads based in Concord, NH.*
- HR
- Safety
- Accounting
- Fleet Maintenance
- Operations
- Marketing
- Maintain external relationships and represent Concord Coach Lines in the community.
Training:
- This position can expect to spend 30 to 60 days learning the operation and the basics of almost all job functions.*
- Willingness to do some or all of the following tasks to show their willingness to do what needs to be done to keep the operation running smoothly and set a positive example for staff at opportune moments will help ensure a successful candidate: assist staff in servicing equipment, selling tickets. plowing snow and loading luggage.
