Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: About the Unit: Mount Carmel Dublin's inpatient unit supports a mixture of post-surgical patients along with a wide array of medical diagnoses including those requiring ICU level of care. The unit will function as an accountable care unit where the PT, OT, and speech therapy colleagues partner with the multidisciplinary team to collectively round on patients to deliver an optimal care experience. Our rehab colleagues will be the functional mobility experts and lead the patient care team on safe patient handling techniques and progression towards the patient's functional goals. Our approach empowers the patient and family to actively participate in the care discussion and decision-making process as care plans are adjusted, barriers addressed, post-acute resources aligned, and concerns resolved. We envision a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on exceptional patient experience and evidence-based care. This position will be hired to staff Mount Carmel Dublin. While construction is underway, the majority of training will take place at Mount Carmel St. Ann's located at 500 S Cleveland Ave, Westerville, OH 43081. We are expecting Mount Carmel Dublin to open Spring of 2025. Position Purpose: In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Occupational Therapist provides optimal Occupational Therapy interventions according to the AOTA standards, MCHS policy and procedures and Mission driven ethics for quality patient care within the continuum. Tuition benefits for certain post- graduate programs and continuing education. What You Will Do: Evaluates patients referred to inpatient or outpatient Occupational Therapy Services areas as assigned. Analyzes data, documents findings, and implements appropriate therapeutic program. Evaluates, provides, or constructs patient adaptive equipment or splints. Provides patient/family/health providers with training/education for compliance of use/wear/precautions. Documents evaluation results, treatment interventions, patient's progress toward goals and discharge plans according to format outlined in assigned treatment area. Communicates with multidisciplinary team via formal and informal patient conferences, team conferences, discharge planning on OT findings/plans/goals. Documents charges, productivity, and other required records per department standards with JCAHO compliance. Coordinates patient treatment schedules with self, peers, and other health professionals. Delegates appropriate treatments to COTA, RA, or Student. Plans, organizes, and coordinates educational in-services, lectures, and demonstrations to peers, students, other health professionals and to the public as assigned. Maintains safe, clean, work area. Reports operating problems to clinical coordinator or department manager. Responsible for effective and efficient use of supplies and equipment. Assists with inventory/re-ordering/recommending new equipment/supplies as assigned. Oversees licensed and unlicensed staff as assigned. Supervises and evaluates affiliating students as assigned. Responsible and accountable for safe and correct procedures delegated to RA or COTA. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program Licensure Requirement: Successfully completed examination for qualification as an Occupational Therapist. Maintains current licensure in the State of Ohio. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with peers, patients, and other health professionals. Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, and leadership skills to deal with abrupt schedule changes and the ability to remain objective in coping with the varied stressors of work with varied acute, outpatient, and terminally ill diagnoses. Demonstrated ability to provide Occupational Therapy evaluations, treatments, and techniques to a wide variety of diagnosis. Physically able to perform strenuous activities, such as; lifting and transferring patients. Thrive By 5 is a pediatric therapy agency providing services to children birth-3 years old.  We are a growing agency seeking strong part time or full time COTA's to provide early intervention and/or preschool services in Orange, Dutchess, and Ulster Counties. We take great pride in the work we do and have a strong reputation in the field.  Essential duties and responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities are not limited to the following: Work 1:1 with developmentally delayed children and their families using an embedded coaching model to provide support, information, and skills to promote generalization/maintenance of goals and enhance the development of the child  Provide home and community based occupational therapy services, which includes reviewing IFSP goals and objectives  Collaborate with other service providers to support IFSP goals and objectives, including Speech Pathologists, Physical Therapists, and Special Instruction/ABA providers Complete session notes and progress reports as required by the early intervention program Other duties as assigned. About the Unit:

Mount Carmel Dublin's inpatient unit supports a mixture of post-surgical patients along with a wide array of medical diagnoses including those requiring ICU level of care. The unit will function as an accountable care unit where the PT, OT, and speech therapy colleagues partner with the multidisciplinary team to collectively round on patients to deliver an optimal care experience. Our rehab colleagues will be the functional mobility experts and lead the patient care team on safe patient handling techniques and progression towards the patient's functional goals. Our approach empowers the patient and family to actively participate in the care discussion and decision-making process as care plans are adjusted, barriers addressed, post-acute resources aligned, and concerns resolved. We envision a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on exceptional patient experience and evidence-based care.

This position will be hired to staff Mount Carmel Dublin. While construction is underway, the majority of training will take place at Mount Carmel St. Ann's located at 500 S Cleveland Ave, Westerville, OH 43081. We are expecting Mount Carmel Dublin to open Spring of 2025.

Position Purpose:

  • In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Occupational Therapist provides optimal Occupational Therapy interventions according to the AOTA standards, MCHS policy and procedures and Mission driven ethics for quality patient care within the continuum.

What You Will Do:

  • Evaluates patients referred to inpatient or outpatient Occupational Therapy Services areas as assigned. Analyzes data, documents findings, and implements appropriate therapeutic program.
  • Evaluates, provides, or constructs patient adaptive equipment or splints. Provides patient/family/health providers with training/education for compliance of use/wear/precautions.
  • Documents evaluation results, treatment interventions, patient's progress toward goals and discharge plans according to format outlined in assigned treatment area.
  • Communicates with multidisciplinary team via formal and informal patient conferences, team conferences, discharge planning on OT findings/plans/goals.
  • Documents charges, productivity, and other required records per department standards with JCAHO compliance.
  • Coordinates patient treatment schedules with self, peers, and other health professionals. Delegates appropriate treatments to COTA, RA, or Student.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates educational in-services, lectures, and demonstrations to peers, students, other health professionals and to the public as assigned.
  • Maintains safe, clean, work area. Reports operating problems to clinical coordinator or department manager.
  • Responsible for effective and efficient use of supplies and equipment. Assists with inventory/re-ordering/recommending new equipment/supplies as assigned.
  • Oversees licensed and unlicensed staff as assigned.
  • Supervises and evaluates affiliating students as assigned.
  • Responsible and accountable for safe and correct procedures delegated to RA or COTA.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
  • Licensure Requirement: Successfully completed examination for qualification as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintains current licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with peers, patients, and other health professionals.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, and leadership skills to deal with abrupt schedule changes and the ability to remain objective in coping with the varied stressors of work with varied acute, outpatient, and terminally ill diagnoses.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide Occupational Therapy evaluations, treatments, and techniques to a wide variety of diagnosis.
  • Physically able to perform strenuous activities, such as; lifting and transferring patients.
  • BLS healthcare provider training required
